almost any page on massassi.net will say 1998, seems like a fairly logical date, being a JK site and all... and really, i'm not gonna say who started the site, because i feel its a bit silly.

1998 was when Massassi became it's own indepentdat website. Used to be tied in with another, but I don'tremeber the name (before my time [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif] ). Brian is the brains behind Massassi.

http://www.massassi.net/about/

Massassi was never on geocities. I think the very first place it was originally at:

http://www.as.net/~redone/

(Of course there's nothing there now.)

Then it went:

But wait, I remember it once was www.massassi.com and then one day it became .net or am I just very confused?

You are confused. I wanted to move to a domain name, and I talked to our host at the time (telefragged.com who hosted jedinights.com), and after not being able to come to an agreement on the terms, I decided to register it myself and move to a new host. Unfortunately, they had other ideas so registered it before I had the chance. It took about 3 years but I finally was able to get the domain name from them. Massassi was never at massassi.com, though (although we did offer free email there at one point).

I think you are starting to catch "Cool Matty" syndrome. Believe it or not, your server is only got so much bandwith. Having over 100 people checking their email on a web-based form every hour or so (Like I know some people do) would totally devastate what is left of your server (Which isn't exactly running very fast at this point, for that matter.)
