Hey guys! What is the best web host out there? I remember something like "Sof.." was good, but I can't remember exactly.

I take it you're not looking for free web hosting. I recommend www.glypto.com - the best web service I've seen. They may not have the highest storage and bandwith, but their tech support more than makes up for that. They will contact you and solve the problem within five minutes of your contacting them - now that's service.

I'm working on that.
Cost - $500 for equipment
Frustration level - high
Rewards - even higher

Bandwidth would be based on your ISP.
Storage would be whatever the size of the HDD you have in there.
Maintenance would be up to you to keep Perl or PHP and MySQL up to date. And backing up your data would also be up to you (easy).

Or, I have found www.ez-web-hosting.com
$250US for one year.
20GB bandwidth/month
800MB storage.
Support is very good. Very good.
Unlimited e-mail, subdomains...
They also have smaller packages for less.

These hosting packages are great, and Jason (the owner from what I can tell) gets in contact with you just about as fast as Wolfy's host. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] Awesome deal...

OSC is running on 500MB space and 4.88GB bandwidth a month for $96 a year. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Gah.. I remember seeing a site somewhere that was pretty much the same as e-z-hosting, except it was cheaper, and instead of 800mb it was 1000 or 1200mb...

damnit, where is it...?

A Web Hosting company *can* make money with those prices but usually only through massive overselling in the Bandwith Department meaning that you're not actually getting what you paid for and by selling at those prices they can only maintain a very small profit margin which means they probably won't last...

I don't oversell... which is why you might think the bandwith alotments are a little stingy...

I run that www.out-post.net web hosting that Cool Matty mentioned, Buy now! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]
