Video Game Awards on Spike TV

I hate and like this award show both at the same time. I like it because it shows that video games are becoming more mainstream, but I hate it because of the MTV award style show.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Vice City and Splinter Cell released last year? Anyway, so far Madden somehow won game of the year. As good as Madden is, it doesn't deserve game of the year. I'll be interested in seeing what other games will win.

Splinter Cell and Vice City were 2003. I agree on Madden. But it is Spike TV.

Watching it right now. Seems pretty crappy. The only good thing that's come from Spike TV is Most Extreme Elimination Challenge.

I think that was on TNN before, as was TNG, so they didn't really add anything good.

I've tried watching that show a couple of times, but all I can get from it is, "He ran into a cement block! Let us laugh at him! Ha! Ha ha ha ha! Yes, we are funny! Comedic, are we!"

TNG for me.

Well I wish I never bother to watched it. The games that won were a joke. Dej Jam Vendetta for best music? True Crime for best action game? What the hell is with the wrestling match? Also I just noticed that most of the games that won were American made games. I mean Splinter Cell for best handheld game? Where is Final Fantasy Tactics Advance? Where are the Castlevania games? Where are the Mario games!?

Interesting, Halo 2 beat both Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 for Most Anticipated Game of 2004... I demand a recount!

I don't, Halo was jizzmatic, I really don't care too much about Half-Life 2, and all the screens from Doom 3 look baaaaaaad. Sure the Engine is amazing, but the models... I don't want to go through a game where I'm laughing at how stupid the enemies look like.
