HELP my computer is now dead

the goddamn computer just died on me

i shut it down walked out of the room about 5 hours ago and then just now i came back in press start up on the puter and went to bathroom and came back to an black screen, so i opened her up and messed around a little bit, nothing i cfould do would even get the goddamn thing to come to life, just a black screen and the screen works i know i checked.

anyway i went onto to inspect the rest of the stuff and i noticed something pecular. the pump was running 24/7

even with the power switch off, and the computer off and only way i could stop the pump was to unplug it, anyway i unpluged it and pluged it back in, it started right back up and the pump didn't have any problem just a little bit warm that's all.

but the rest of the computer is ****ing stone dead. the power led goes blue then i get red flicking on harddrive which mean reading or something then it goes solid and nothing else happen.

anyway i did everything i knew, resetted the bios unplugged and replugged things in blah blah blah, still ****ing dead.

plus the pecular problem with the pump, then later i turned off the damn thing off then i pressed the power on the relay and those cold cathoide tube flashed then fan came on. i pressed it off. all stopped but the ****ing pump keept on going. so i pressed it again the light tubes flashed again and so forth.

so i think that the relay or the electgonic part ****ed up the power supply enough that it burned out the motherboard and maybe cpu **** even the whole thing could be all burnedout.

anyway i have yaked out the plug for both power supply.

and oh yes, when i only plug in the regular computer power supply and start up everything start up fan, etc... expect for pump, it dosen't even start up.

then if i pull out power and put into the relay pump powr thing next to fan, the pump starts up but everything else is dead untill i press the power and all fans comes on, same with the main computer power, the computer powers up but i still have a ****ing black screen.

so HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

above is a copy and paste of my comment and description of the problem to my dad who bult the relay and stuff, i bult the computer hardware.

anyway help!! i have over 3,000$ worth of goodies in that ****ing thing and if its all fried then well [DANG]

I can't help you with your computer problem but I'd suggest you edit that last bit before you get in trouble.

Try removing everything that isn't essential and see where that gets you. If it does work add each component one at a time.

If you have a built in graphics port and a graphics card try using just the port and remove the card.

And I agree with Flexor, edit your post [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

Yes, we understand that you're angry, but calm down. **** is censored for a reason.

I so understand your frustration as computers at times can be the most vexing things on this planet. That said, however, don't evade that censor please [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

Your problem..well..it sounds like one I can't really offer much advice with without looking at it. I think your best bet is to take it in to be repaired and just hope it is one failed component and not many :-/

um this thing is a custom home bult computer with watercooling [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

anyway i'm going to tonight start yaking out items to see if i can even get it to start up. i have two suspection.

motherboard is ****ed
video card is ****ed

im leaning toward the motherboard being ****ed because i have an usb intelliexplorer optic mouse and if it was booting up normaly it would have red lcd on and u would tell that the optic stuff was on, plus that the harddrive lights are on 24/7 when i boot it up so i suspect motherboard is ****ed, i just hope it dosen't damage my harddrive. anyway if its many component that is damaged then i'm going to be ****ing pissed. that's well over $3,000 worth of top of the line components, best of the best and blah blah blah.

because screen work just geting no input, and the lcd and stuff all light up but the harddrive one is on like 24/7 so i suspect that its the motherboard that's ****ed anyway i resetted the bios, no luck.

so i'm going to do some work on the relay setup and try to figure out what part ****ed up then see if i can't build myself an little diode into the relay connection between the main computer and the relay to prevant furture feedbacks because i think there was a surge or feedback that somehow damaged the motherboard or so. not sure. so worth a look into.

Did you overclock or why need watercooling

You may have shorted it out with the pumping system, or overheated the CPU by a poorly-seated heatsink for the pump (which are harder to attach), or you overclocked it too far and finally blew the FSB/CPU Core/Northbridge.

Is the CPU/heatsink(if you have one) heating up at all?

Turn the comp on and leave it going for a bit, then see if it's heating up at all. You CAN pull the heatsink off and put your finger on the CPU, quickly turn the computer on/off. I did that once with my t-bird 1.2g which is meant to explode in 1.2 seconds with no heatsink(according to tom's hw or OCP, I forget). My finger prolly helped dissipate heat...

But anyway, disclaimer; do that at your own risk, don't blame me if you have 2 degree burns and charcoal CPU tommmorrow...

u know what's wierd

i walked in started it up and it worked...

wtf?

all i can say is i now belive in voodoo magic.

going to keep a eye on that sucker and if it fail again i'll keep some of those things in mind, i think its the overheating but not sure because the temperature are pretty damn stable and nice and low an 71 degree out, 68 degree in, for my watercooling loop, i have set the thermaial shutdown to 148 degree which is about 50 degree cenisues or however u spell it.
