The motion systems in that are incredible. And yes it's real. My guess is you'll be able to buy one soon for the right price.
I'm gonna check to see if it has a vision system. If so, that would make it 10 times as incredible.

Hmm... this happened with another .wmv I tried to play... Stupid Windows Media Player said that it was downloading the codec, got to 100%, and then said that the download failed, and proceeded to play the audio portion only. Any clues at to why? Kinda strange to listen to just that portion, heh.

I thought I saw on TV not so long ago that these things were already for sale. Well, in Japan, at least. Can't remember for how much.

You might be thinking of the SDR robots they have... same sort of idea, and they are selling for about $30,000 each, if I remember correctly.

Since AI is getting more and more intelligent, with QRIO and AIBO, should we consider them living things?

Hardly. The problem with developing true AI is that you're simply giving a program a set of pre-made reactions to situations. If you provide an AI program with a situation it doesn't know how to handle or how to react to, it will simply splutter or continue on with is previous action.

That reminds me of an episode of TNG that was on last night.

Let's say this thing costs $50,000 (probably costs more). Is it really worth buying a $50k robot when you know the only thing you'll do is make it dance all day? I sure think so!

Now, who's going to give me $50k?

they aren't living things because they aren't alive, they're just machines, no matter how good their artificial intelligence is.

I won't be satisfied untill I see robots doing taichi.

And yeah, I was hoping for a duel too...

That's ok, modern technology has failed as a whole untill they put a lightsaber in my hand.

Duel Zero : Released the beta. Probably the end of it. Not to worry though, I'm working on Randsaber, which is a lot better.
