Question about CPU speeds.
2004-01-17, 1:06 PM #1
Okay, so i just got this:
http://www.asus.com/prog/spec.asp?m=A7V333&langs=01

But the CPU jumper settings are those small numbers, not like the 1.4Ghz. Like here: http://www.asus.com/products/mb/socketa/a7v333/jumper.htm

Is there some kinda number you have to multiply to get the correct CPU speed? My processor is a 1.4Ghz AMD, and it worked fine with this old mobo which has the same specs: http://www.soyo.com.tw/products/proddesc.php?id=147

So i guess i would just like to know what a 1.4Ghz CPU's setting would be.

It depends what type, if it's an Athlon or Althlon XP for example, it's different. I've found if you set the multiplyer settings to "Auto" it works fine.

Tech Forum, btw.

Nothing gets answered in the tech forum (from my past experiences at least), but yeah, it's an athlon xp. Would you set it as auto on the board or in the bios?

Nothing gets answered if no one knows the answer, you are right.

when you say 1.4ghz, thats what? The 1600+ 1700+?

I believe the CPU multiplier is listed on AMD.com

That's the fsb unless I'm mistaken, set it to your CPU's fsb frequency
