(DISCLAIMER: I do NOT want to start an Apple-flaming thread nor a Homeschooling debate... if you have questions about homeschooling or apple computers that's fine but flaming is just a waste of all our time)

so I was browsing the main page of Apple.com for inspiration on which iBook to order when something caught my eye...
they give the same educational discounts to homeschoolers as they do to public and private schools!
this is great... amazing... spectacular!

not very often does an organisation recognise homeschoolers on a level anywhere near the "almighty public school system" or even on the private school level.

so here's a big thank you to Apple! they rock (=

EDIT: btw, i decided on a 12" PowerBook after further research... 512K cache is quite nice ;D

That'd be great if it had half the uses that anything x86 has :/. Reformat the hdd and put in Linux or something, and it may be salvaged... Don't mistake this as OMG APPLE SUCKS, just my two cents on the situation.

I'm excited about the new Mac OS. I'm saving up for a new iBook or G5, the school bookstore gives students killer discounts on apple products and apple products > anything. Sorry, I could care less about games and crap, I just want something I can edit music and videos with and apple makes the best product for that kind of thing. and they are sexy looking. and I'll be able to use ACC format on my iPod.

You can use ACC on your I-pod if you are on Windoew- download ITunes-> Pref -> Importing -> ACC/Mp3/WAV or Select All in ITunes and 'Convert All to ACC' take about 30 mins on 1000 tracks

The mac flaming doesn't really matter. Anyone who thinks windows is better than panther has a number of screws loose in their insane little head. Plus it also show how ignorant they are of technology. Even linux isn't as good as panther. Personally i would like to hear one GOOD reason of how windows, hereafter reffered to as winblowz, is better than panther.

i'm graduating "2 years early" by public school standards... hehe, i'll turn 17 in the first semester of my freshman year at university (=

Schming: if you're a student (university, high school, ANYTHING) then check the Education part of Apple.com and see if you can get a discount.

btw, the PowerBooks have 512K cache and iBooks only have 256K
also, you get BlueTooth standard and FireWire 800 (if you get 12" you only get FW400... oh well )

anyway, i'll post a report of how the system runs when i get it end of the week!
