Try a car parts store [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif] They can't be THAT expensive... they're just plastic.

Tie a string to your next gas cap from around the hole into which you insert the pump. It'll make losing it a lot harder.

That's why you get a Mustang, cause the gas cap is already attached.

I can vouch for that method.

I have a plastic one, does its job well. Bought it at a service station after losing the original after insisting to fill the tank myself while intoxicated.

Should probably mention my non-drinking friend was driving at the time [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

My gas cap is attached via a plastic wire. While its impossible to lose, I have forgotten to screw it back on. Kind of embarassing to know you just drove through town with your gas cap hanging off.

Make sure you screw it in tight. If you don't, oxygen gets into your tank. This is no danger to the car (though I suppose it can increase the chance of a fire being sustained in the tank), it makes your dashboard freak out and insist you service your engine.

How do I know this? We spent two weeks trying to figure out what was wrong with my sister's car's engine.

Yeah, Wolfy, Hondas do that.

I get annoyed at cars that have attached caps, the "wires" always seem too short and they get in the way, not to mention they can have gas on them which can lead to a corrosion/rust problem.

My gfs 2002 accord has no wire. My 98 Jeep has one. Ugh.

It was a Mazda, actually. Of coures, Honda may own Mazda. God knows that only three companies independently exist - all the others are owned by the aforementioned three.

Try Canadian Tire. If you aren't Canadian, then I guess you'll just have to borrow one form someone else's car.

Shut up. I'm GOING to do this whether you like it or not.
