So here's the dealio shmelio. I made a custom spray for CS. I got Wally and HLC. It worked. w00t. NOW! I made a new one instead. Its of Amigo, the monkey from Samba de Amigo. And it wont work. I did the exact same steps as last time too. Help?

I play CS and I dont even know how to get custom sprays ingame! I would like to know, but anyways is the file type the same as the last? Maybe thats your problem ?

There is no spoon.

Spray as in, on the Half Life engine you can have custom images that you "spray" on the surfaces. The reason they're called sprays is the default ones look like spray paint, and it uses a spray paint sound.

It's pretty cool. But sorry I can't help you, I never figured out how to do a custom spray. :\

It's really funny in DoD to get sprays of all kinds of things that blend into the scenery... Like somepeople use sprays that look like soldiers, and put them in dark corners and such so the enemy can't tell the difference. Sure enough, an enemy soldier comes running around the corner, sees the spray, thinks its a really guy and unloads a round of bullets hitting... nothing. Then the real guy pops out while the enemy is reloading. Kinda cheap but funny.

Also people use sprays of things like ladders and windows, ladders tend to really confuse people (especially new players who dont really know the map).

There was once a guy running around spraying Goatse everywhere... pretty much everybody left.

To make a solid color spray, draw your design or picture in a square (eg: 64x64), and save it as a 256 color bmp.

What folder do I put it in?

There are many issues with sprays and Steam. Valve disabled custom sprays entirely at one point because of this, but I think they have been reactivated since.

If you do not want to see custom sprays, cl_allowdownload 0 in the console should do the trick. It could be a server-side option however.

If you have trouble with your spray, here are some things I've found:

Direct3D has some issues with them, try Open GL (something I recommend you do anyway)

Size matters, if they are too large, they won't show up, unless

hpk_maxsize is set to 0

Also delete custom.hpk from time to time, which stores all the sprays you've ever downladed and can get quite large.
