Is it HDTV or is it just 1080 lines of resolution?
I'm a bit confused about the specs.

HDTV is either 1080i or 720p

the original plan was just to get a standard non HD 32" then we saw a 32" HDTV for not a whole lot more than what we were gonna pay then for some reason we ended up with the 40" XBR... and only because they had an out of box special...

Mine is old too... It doesnt even have a remote. Well, it's good enough to watch the simpsons and the few other things that I watch on [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] DVD's and stuff I usually watch on my computer anyway.

I have a Panasonic Tau HDTV.

The reason I ask if it's a real HDTV is because in the specs it says it's got Hi-Scan 1080i™ Display. This may mean it double scans 540 lines of resolution simulating 1080, or simulating HDTV.
Nowhere does it actually state that this is an HDTV CRT.
