I bought the game the day it came out in August 2002, and I have to tell you, this is hands down the best game I've ever played, with the MOST replay value imaginable. We're talking over 100 hours here minimum. The Demo doesn't even contain 5% of what you will do in the full game. Seriously, the campaign and the battles are UNREAL. The strategy and tactics you can use are UNLIMITED in their complexities, yet once you get the hang of it, you realize just how intuitive it all is. Other Strategy games can hope have a few hundred troops at the most. In Medieval:Total War you can have 10,000 all in real time.
Basically, i can't even begin to describe just how incredible this game is because there is so much to say. You could write books on the Battle tactics, or Campaign tactics, it's that awesome. This is one game you'll get your every penny out of.
There is simply nothing else like it out there in the stores...that is, until Rome: Total War comes out.
