Assault on Vega 6
2000-03-24, 2:13 PM #1
--hssss--!!!
The airlock opened on the Corellian YT 1300. Dev stepped out onto the green grassy field.
"So, this is Vega 6," he said. "What a beautiful planet...it reminds me of the holos of Naboo, but even more beautiful..."
Vast green fields spread out as far as the eye could see. Various herds of animals wandered about. The sky was a light blue with several clouds dotting the sky. Dav looked back inside his ship.
"Hey, TeeKay! Do you have my speeder ready yet?"
TeeKay, Dev's ASP-7 droid, slowly walked down the ship's landing ramp holding a hydrospanner.
"I am sorry, master Dev. Your speeder is not quite ready yet."
"That's okay, TeeKay. I'll check out this planet on foot for an hour or so. If anything happens, call me on the communicator. Bye."
"Bye, sir. Keep out of trouble."
Dev didn't bother to respond. This planet, Vega 6, was paradise. He had been fighting the Empire for months and really needed a vacation, and Vega 6, this practically unheard of world, was the place to do it.
Dev wandered for several minutes and decided to sit down on the top of a hill to catch his breath. He watched a herd of grazing animals wander by. All of a sudden, the animals began running. Dev stood up and pulled out his macrobinoculars and looked around. In the distance, three Imperial AT-ATs were coming, blasting away at the fleeing animals.
"This is not good," Dev said. He turned on his comm unit. "TeeKay, you there? We got company! Get the ship ready for flight! We're getting out of here!"
Dev was shocked to hear the replying voice. It wasn't TeeKay, but a human. His voice sounded slightly muffled, as if by...a stormtrooper helmet.
"Oh no," Dev said. Stormtroopers had his ship. He was on a world under Imperial attack...with no way out.

(this is my first time posting here, but here goes...)

Dev felt the coldness of a carbine barrel on his neck. "I found the pilot captian" said Dev's captor.
"Stun him, we have a few questions to our new friend" said the captain. For a moment the barrel was off his neck, then the last thing Dev remembers is the trooper saying "understood"
Dev awoke with a jolt... in a small cell.
"Ahhh you're awake..." a menacing voice said.
Dev turned around towards the voice.. a thin, tall man was standing there... accompanied by two stormtroopers. The man was an officer, as his uniform showed.
Dev stood up quickly and demanded "what the hell do you want!?! I didnt do anything wrong!!"
"haha...fool, get as much rest as you can.. and prepare to tell the whole truth to us..
Dev was fed up with this.. he hated interrogations almost as bad as being imprisoned.
The officer left the small cell.. as the stormtroopers turned to leave he kicked the trooper on the right. Although his shoes did no damage to the trooper, it knocked him back. The other trooper turned and fired at Dev, but he had anticipated the move and was already hitting the floor. The blasts hit the other trooper in the chest, throwing him against the wall from being shoot point blank.
Dev quickly grabbed the other troopers rifle while he shot erraticly at his target. Dev set the gun for stun and shot the trooper in the face...
a minute later several troopers surrounded the corridor, guns pointed at the cell door. Out walked a solitary trooper.
"what happened here?" questioned a guard.
"The prisoner killed TK-517... i was able to stun him.. he is still in the cell" returned the trooper...luckily the guards did not notice the guard's voice was different...

"You stunned the prisoner?" One of the Stormtroopers asked.
"Yeah. He's in the cell," Dev said.
"Let me check to make sure that he's totally stunned," the Stormtrooper said. He and the three other Stormtroopers walked towards the cell.
Dev was in trouble. If the Stormtroopers looked in the cell, they would see that Dev was gone. He had to think of a plan and fast. He walked over to a light switch and smashed it. All the lights went out in the hallway.
"What happened?!" One of the Stormtroopers yelled.
"Must have been a power failure," Dev said. "Go check the cell, the prisoner's in there."
The four Stormtroopers opened the cell door and walked inside.
"I can't see a thing," One of the Stormtroopers said. "Let me get my glowrod out and then--"
Dev shut the door to the cell and locked the Stormtroopers inside.
"Okay. Now to get out of here." Dev had no idea where he was. He knew that he was in a large Imperial complex, but that was about it. He began wandering around. He went down several corridors when he was stopped by two Imperial officers.
"What's your name, trooper?" one of the officers asked.
"Uh, I'm...-cough cough!-" Dev said.
"Um, are you okay?" the other officer asked.
"I...I'm..-cough cough!- sick...I need to go to the medical bay..." Dev said.
"Just give me your name and I'll take you to the medical bay," one of the officers said.
Dev looked around. There were no holocameras watching. He pulled out his blaster and shot the two officers.
Dev walked through the door that the officers were guarding and came face to face with ten Stormtroopers.
"Hey, we got a message that four men got locked in the prisoner's cell and can't get out. Know anything about it?" one of the Stomrtroopers asked.
"Sorry, no" Dev replied.
"Hey, who ARE you anyway?" one of the Stormtroopers asked.
The Stormtroopers surrounded Dev.

Dev was done for...
Breep Breep! Intruder Alert Code 3! lockdown of all corridors will commence in 3 minutes get to your assigned security posts! the comm system blared.
"dammit! lets go" the crowd of stormtroopers hurried out, leaving Dev.
"theres intruders?" he wondered. No time to think Dev ran to a computer console and tapped into the map of the base, using his newly acquired keycard.
An exit to the base was several corridors down.. he had to hurry.
He rushed out of the room, and right into a large firefight!
Laser blasts streaked by he hit the deck reflexively. Smoke filled the hallway, and Dev could not see where to run, so he ran back into the room he just came from.
"I am gonna need a bigger gun" Dev thought...
2000-03-26, 9:02 AM #6
Dev needed a bigger gun. An Imperial Elite Guard ran by, carrying a Concussion Rifle.
Dev walked up to the Elite Guard.
"Hey, I'm lost. Can you show me how to go to level 4-M?" asked Dev.
"Sure," the Elite Guard said. "You go down this hall and--ugh!"
Dev shot the Elite Guard in the back and took the Concussion Rifle.
"Now to go see what that firefight is about!"
Dev went back into the firefight room with his newly stolen gun. Laser blasts whizzed by overhead. Dev ducked behind a crate. Dozens of Stormtroopers were shooting at...something. There was so much smoke in the room that Dev could not see what was shooting at the Stormtroopers, and himself. He crawled over to another Stormtrooper.
"Hey! What's goin' on?" Dev yelled over the blaster fire.
"We're under attack! It's those blasted Rebels!" The Stormtrooper replied.
"The Rebel Alliance found us?" Dev asked.
"No, not the Rebel Alliance. The Vega 6 Rebels! They aren't a part of the Rebel Alliance, but they fight for similar causes. They are limited to this planet alone, explaining their name. I wouldn't be suprised, though, if the Vega 6 Rebels decided to join the Alliance if they had a chance." The Stormtrooper said.
So, Dev thought. He was still on Vega 6. That meant the Imperials had a base on Vega 6 and were fighting these rebels.
"So, how many of these Vega 6 Rebels do you think there are?" Dev yelled.
"I don't know--GAAAAHH!!!"
A blaster bolt shot right through the Stormtrooper's head.
Dev knew he could help the Vega 6 Rebels. But how would he convince them that he wasn't an Imperial? Dev needed a way to assure them that he wasn't an Imperial. He popped open the crate he was hiding behind. There were 10 containers of blue paint inside. Dev opened one of the containers and poured blue paint all over his Stormtrooper armor. Now he didn't look like a Stormtrooper. Dev crawled over to a ladder and climbed it. He went up on to a walkway looking down on the battle field. He then began shooting his Concussion Rifle at the Stormtroopers. Stormtrooper after Stormtrooper was blown to pieces by the high powered Concussion Rifle. The Stormtroopers began shooting back at Dev. Dev fired more, and killed all the Stormtroopers.
He climbed back down the ladder. One of the Vega 6 Rebels approached him.
"Thanks, bud," the Rebel said.
"Sure. I'm a Rebel supporter, don't worry. I'm just in Imperial armor." Dev said.
"That's great." The rebel replied. "Uh-oh," he said.
"What?" Dev asked.
"AT-ST!!!" The rebel yelled.
Dev turned around and saw the AT-ST coming. He pulled the trigger on the Concussion Rifle. Nothing. He was out of ammo.
2000-03-28, 6:09 PM #7
The AT-ST opened fire at Dev and the Rebels. Dev leaped behind a crate and avoided the laser fire. He popped open the crate. A pack of thermal detonators was inside. Perfect, he thought. He set the trigger and stood up. He hurled the detonator at the AT-ST. The thermal detonator exploded, blowing the AT-ST to pieces. Dev followed the Rebels.
"So, what are you doing in this base anyway?" Dev asked.
"We needed more weapons," the Rebel replied. "So we decided to steal some from the Imperials. But they caught us in the act and decided to try to kill us."
"I see."
The Rebels led Dev outside the base. A pile of dead Stormtroopers lay on the grass.
"And I see you weren't very quiet coming in," Dev said.
The Rebels boarded several large hovercraft.
"Come on," one of the Rebels yelled. "Before an AT-AT comes!"
"AT-AT?" Dev asked.
And sure enough, an Imperial AT-AT came out from the far side of the base.
"Let's go!"

Inside one of the hovercraft...
"Again, thanks for saving us," one of the Rebels said.
"No problem," Dev replied. Who are you, anyway?
"Oh, I'm Brenn, and this is Dellis." the rebel replied. Brenn was tall and had dark hair. Dellis, however, was the opposite. He wore glasses and was very short.
"So, where are we going?" Dev asked.
"To our base in the south," Dellis replied.
A beep sounded.
"Oh, it's my comlink," Brenn said. Brenn picked it up. "Hello?...uh huh.....uh...yeah. I'm coming!"
"What is is?" Dev asked.
"It looks like the Imperials set a trap for us. We got some Imperial TIE Fighters coming in at us. We got about half a minute before they hit us."
Brenn opened the door on the hovercraft. Rebels were setting up E-Web laser cannons all over the field.
"Prepare for attack!" someone yelled.
On the horizon, a full squadron of TIE Fighters appeared. They zoomed in for the attack.

(I miss ya, Rage_Unleashed. You wrote some great material. Where did you go?)
The squadron of TIE Fighters zoomed in at full speed and began shooting at the Rebels, ripping up the ground with green laser bolts in the process.
"OPEN FIRE!!!" Brenn screamed. The rebels began blasting bright red lasers into the sky. The TIE Fighters scattered, but one TIE was hit by a barrage of laser fire and exploded. The other TIEs continued to fire. TIE lasers destroyed rebel vehicles, weapons, and troops. The rebels returned fire and took down three more TIEs. The battle continued on for several minutes, with heavy losses on both sides. Finally, the last two TIEs retreated. The rebels cheered in victory. But their victory was breif.
Dellis yelled from on top of a hill, "I see about twenty AT-PTs coming our way! And they have an Imperial walker with them!"
The rebels' transports had been destroyed by the TIEs. The only thing they could do was hide or fight. But there was no where to hide--they were in the middle of a field. So they would have to fight--a fight they knew they would lose.

from the window of the at-at an imperial genaral suveyed the scene as the rebels braced themselves he suddenly understood why they were fighting. hed been becoming a rebel for weeks but this was his first act of defiance. He ordered the at-pts to form tight formation and wait for orders. then he told the luitenant on the bridge that he had to check something. the luitenant was confused but he trusted his co completely so he stopped the patrol
the general then sprinted past the troopers in the at-ats nearly empty hold to an escae hatch by a computer terminal and keyed in the self destruct sequance (how ironic it was desicned to stop the at-at falling to rebel hands)and blew the hatch
as he was on the floor taking cover the at-at exploded causing a chain reaction destroying the surrounding at-pts fortunatly the generals body armour .....
