It is the 1930's, the age of the dry law, gangsters, and Al Capone.

You are to create a character who will *live* his everyday life in this setting. He can be anyone from one of the Dons of the Italian families of Chicago to the local milkman.

The major plot of the story is the struggle between the criminalistic structures and the (oftenly corrupted) law enforcers, along as the struggle between themselves for power, respect, and influence.

"Jo's Milk Store" became suddenly popular between the *knowing* social layers, for beneath the store itself was a public house, and in the store any one could get themselves a shot of whiskey. Jo came up with the idea himself - just a little invesment from some of his friends, and he's a prosperous businessman. The bad side of this is that he now had to pay a *tax* for his cover + protection (read: recket) every month. He did not yet know what a stupid thing he did when he refused to pay the monthly fee yesterday. The gentlemen in business suits said nothing but "Fine, we'll be off then" and walked away. That already made him quite alarmed, but still he did not know what they're going to do with him, if anything at all. He was sitting right behind the counter in his store with a sawed-off shotgun then he heard the bells above his door jingle.

The next day Jo had his feet in a concrete block, 19 meters under the lake's surface.
