question for all ISBers concerning default shown threads
2008-09-28, 12:57 AM #1
Hey all.

So for the longest time, I've been of the thought that the default "2 days or less" for active threads shown was a good default. Particularly since the ISB is not the most active of places, I've felt that it served as a good unofficial reminder that, when a thread's not being shown (with NeS at least) that it was time that a new post needed to be made so that it wouldn't start collecting digital dust, as it were.

However, I've never bothered to actually listen to the rest of you on whether the majority of you agree with that train of thought or not. Since I'd prefer doing whatever I think would be best for the ISB, I wanted to ask you all what you feel is a good default.

For me, I still think the 2 day or less is a good default. It doesn't take much effort to go down and change the days shown, or to look at the ISB Index/NeS workshop thread for the needed story links.

What do you think?

I don't think it matters too much, it's pretty easy to find threads in here. I think it would be cool to have finished stories stickied, but there aren't too many of those.

Uhh it dawns on me that it definitely needs to be higher cause I can't see threads that aren't shown by default. Which means I can't see most of the threads here.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

A'ight, I'm going to request that the default be changed to 2 weeks instead of 2 days. If anyone strongly objects, speak up and I'll consider it.

I usually wind up selecting last month because I don't know when the last profile was posted up. I check that thread for references and the like when posting, you see.

I do my best to link all the active characters with their profiles linked, in the first post of the workshop.

Last year. Sometimes I forget I made a thread in here about some lame story, and I can never find it. Namely because I'm too lazy. So instead of making it better, I make more stupid stories.

Yeah, I really need to update the ISB Index thread, but 1) I'm lazy and 2) I'm still uncertain how I want to organize it, which threads I should include, that sort of thing.
