So, they are one of the biggest bands over here in the U.K and I was wondering what everyone else thinks of them ? They come from Lowerstoft which is pretty much just down the road from me and I remember seeing them at local pubs and stuff and now I cant turn on my T.V without them being there. Any of you guys had a similar experience ?

Never heard of them, but I love Pitchshifter! Damn british band..breaks up after one kickarse album.

I can't stand them. They're either trying to mock hair metal and doing a piss-poor job of it, or emulate hair metal and doing a piss-poor job of it.

They're tounge in cheek - but the songs are wicked (Permission to land is great)

As for similar experience, well, if you remember shed 7 (and you probably won't... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif])from nineties indy, they went to my school...!

Guys, lighten up, The Darkness arn't really ment to be taken seriously. Just look at them ! Can you say Spinal Tap ? Love them or hate them, you can't deny that these guys can play. If you havn't heard them yet, go and listen to them now! If you still cant see whats so funny about them, just look at the song names. Would you call Queen metal?

They've been compared to Queen far more than any metal band.

I like them. They're somewhat overplayed but they're great fun. You haven't experienced camaraderie until you've sang along to The Darkness amongst friends [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

They've got a flippin' clap chorus in one of their songs, they're not supposed to be taken seriously.

I think they're fun, but I cant really say I'm a big fan.

The guys that are getting pissed being like "oh they're not realy metal" "grrr... darkness" lighten up, it's fun.
