Metal = life.

(Oh, as for the band, if you count Nightwish as metal, it's Nightwish. otherwise, Dimmu all the way)
2004-03-29, 9:21 AM #4
While I think that Dimmu Borgir are talented dudes, I really think that they're so freaking overrated...their songs are so long and boring and they look soooo ridiculous in their little costumes.

I'm going with Between the Buried and Me on this one. Seriously, anyone interested in metal needs to hear this band. The Silent Circus is thier newest and by far best album, do yourselves a favor and check it out.
2004-03-29, 12:22 PM #5
Depends on the song powertickle, their newest album is brutal and relentless dimmu at its best.

And I wouldn't be able to make up my mind on my favorite band. There are so many kinda of metal out there that I would never make up my mind. although I REALLY Love Kalmah. the rest would probably be a tie between Children Of Bodom and Stormlord, (although their newest release kinda sucks... I'll review it later this week..)

I think they're classified, as "NU-Metal", but I'm not 100 percent sure.

Favourite Metal Band: no data.

Iced Earth.

Any band that can pull off "When the Night Falls" or "Dante's Inferno" live obviously have way too much talent to be mortal.

Hey Murc, I've actually heard a song by Demon Hunter. It was back when I listened to that type of music, but I didn't like the song much back then, either.
It's cool that you like them though, I just thought the vocals were not my thing. He sounded sort of like a warthog.

Oh, and I don't recall Zepplin being metal, AT ALL :P

Zepplin were to metal what The Stooges were to punk, ie they didn't start it but they helped build the foundation.

Iron Maiden is the origin of metal, merely.
2004-03-31, 12:51 AM #26
Whel... no Black Sabbath is the origin of metal [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]
By the way... what do you think about Iron Maiden... I mean the last album "Dance of Death".
I think that "Brave New World" was a loooooot beter.

Definitely. Plus it didn't have that lame copy protection.

"Dream of Mirrors" is way cool, as are "Ghost of the Navigator", "Brave New World" and "Out Of The Silent Planet".

No way, even I know that isn't true. It's Black Sabbath.

You forgot to mention the terrible cover on Iron Maiden's latest album. I want to know what they were thinking. My only guess is that they were short on time and strapped for cash.

lol, Iron Maiden the origin of metal [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

They influenced a lot of bands, but only in a very special kind of Metal.

Black Sabbath, hell yeah! And there are some other bands that influenced the whole metal genre more than Iron Maiden. Like Metallica [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif] Ok, that's not objective hehe
