The usual link.

This thread exists because of Flexor's request for a couple more themes from MegaMan X2 and X3.

I went ahead and did both of Sigma's themes. Surprisingly, the first theme was a blast to play. I changed the drumline a bit. However, it was NOT fun making the drumline in Fruityloops, since it alternates between 4/4 and 3/4 time. I decided not to follow the lead from the game all that closely, too.
The second of Sigma's themes is a bit more repititious (since it is designed for a game), and I stuck with the lead from the game a bit more, until around 4:20. It builds up to that point, then falls back down into my usual minor pentonic leads.
There's also two versions of the song. In one of them, I simply added a 'chicka-wah' sound for rhythm, since it has no percussion. I'm still trying to decide which I like more.

And the Volt Catfish theme was a trick. There are still some minor flaws that you might not notice as much as I do. This was the first time I've actually gotten blisters from playing so much. I'm not used to leads that have so many pull-offs and use the right-hand tapping technique. But at least I developed a new skill while recording this. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Enjoy, Flexor (and anyone else).

Also, can someone tell me why a stereo MP3 of 5 minutes takes up less space than a mono MP3 of 7 minutes when they're the same bitrate?

FLStudio has native support for polyrhythms and changing time signatures. Check it out [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

I can't listen to these because I'm doing homework, and I have a strict HW-Music playlist. But I'll check em out later.

Check it:
on the step sequencer window, there's a little <-> symbol in the upper left. It's sitting right next to a digital display that reads "--". That's how many beats are set to this particular pattern. -- is default, so it's whatever you set in the song settings. If you change it to say...3, then you'll have a 3-beat pattern. Nifty, eh? If you want more control, change the base-time-signature in the song settings dialog.

As far as mono vs stereo;
Stereo is bigger because, in essence, it's almost 2 seperate audio tracks. mp3s will save space by compressing whatever is the same in both l&r channels, but whatever isn't the same (if it's panned at all, which most kind of mastering plugins/effects will add) has to get added as extra data. Try comparing the file size between the same mono/stereo file, but in standard wav format.

I'm still not seeing it. Does it only exist in the full version? I'm using the demo/trial version.
