Favorite Non-guitar Solo / Favorite Non-guitarist Musician
2004-05-27, 5:36 AM #1
Well, we've had the Favorite Guitar Solo and Favorite Guitarist thread, but what about the other musicians out there?

So, post your favorite solos by instruments other than guitar. It could range from the best alto saxophone solo you've ever heard, to a bagpipe solo that brings your mind to thoughts of Braveheart.

Whatever it is, post the name of the song, and the musician. And if you just want to post your favorite non-guitar musician (and by doing that, you imply that all of his/her solos are superb), feel free to do so.

The music industry is a cruel and shallow money trench where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

Micheal Pinnella, Keyboard solo in the Symphony X song, Smoke and Mirrors.

and as for a favorite non-guitar player, I'm hesitating between Jens Johansson (Yngwie, Stratovarius... ) who's an old and experienced player, and Janne Warman (Children Of Bodom, Sinergy, Koltipeto) who's a younger, but equally as good player.

Both are keyboardists.

as for drummers, well the Drum intro solo to the dimmu borgir song "For The world to dictate our death" by Nickolas Baker (Ex-Dimmu Borgir) is mad, same for all of his drum work, so Nick Baker is my favorite Drumkit Butcher =)
