I don't have a favorite song of all time, but I do have a favorite song that changes often. What's your favorite song at the moment?

The Mountain Goats - Palmcorder Vajna

Freakin' incredible song. All of you should listen to it.

Marilyn Manson's score for the Resident Evil movie. It's actually four tracks, but I can't bring myself to choose one of them as my favorite.

Fantômas - Surgical Sound Specimens From The Museum of Skin (Like the Surgeon, The <Composer> Slashes Open The Body of His Fellow Man, Removes His Eyes, Empties His Abdomen of Organs, Hangs Him Up On A Hook Holding Up To The Light All Of The Body's Palpitating Treasures, Sending A Burst Of Light Into It's Innermost Depths)

Its from the new album 'Delerium Cordia'.

That is the only track on the CD, its on for 74 minutes & 17 seconds... its quite amazing. I advise everybody to listen to it alone, in the dark from start to finish. Chances are you will re-evaluate what you consider music to be.

Dry gear.... i've never heard anything like it, it most definately isn't pretentious, and although it does have one or two heavy moments, its too original to be given a genre.

Its a concept from the brain of a madman more than anything... their first album was the soundtrack to a comic book, and the second a load of covers from movie soundtracks... you would really have to hear it for yourself.

Okay, now I'm intrigued. Although the description does set off the pretention alarms. Long title, check; long subtitle, check; referring to themselves as composers, check; using a weird metaphor, check; one long song, check.
So, it may be good, but you can see why it would cause me to be weary.

I like that song, too, as well as the rest of the CD, especially 8 Easy Steps.

But my current favorites are probably Lacuna Coil - 1:19 and Nightwish - Slaying The Dreamer.
