So how do YOU listen to music?

For me it's:
  • Make a 20GB partition for music and mount it with user access on /music
  • Rip each CD to it's own directory in /music with 'cdparanoia -B'
  • oggenc -q8 *
  • rm *.wav
  • Repeat for each CD in their respective directories
  • Make a new directory called /music/playlists
  • Go through each album in XMMS and make a playlist of the songs I like and make one playlist in /music/plalists for each album
  • Open up /music/playlists in ROX-filer and drag the playlists onto XMMS, hit shuffle, play, and relax. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

Put all mp3's in a big winamp playlist and either leave on shuffle or use find to get the song I want to listen to.

Me too. I have the newest tracks sitting on my desktop for easy double-click access, the rest just get randomly shuffled by Winamp.

If I wanna listen to a whole CD, I put it in my stereo.

I rip all my CD's to mp3's on my disk, and keep all of them in their cases without ever taking them out. If i ever need to carry them around, I just burn a copy and I'm off. makes sure all my CD's remain in good condition =)

I've got this neat thing that lets me listen to my MP3 Player through any radio. It's great for driving.
