My music folder is over 20 gb at the moment. And yes, 14 gb of them are Jean-Michel Jarre (related) music.

But I don't have any playlists anymore. I just open a folder and double-click the mp3.

Yes, I took screenshots of mine. iTunes doesn't have a great way to export playlists for posting.

That shot is a tad old now. I think I have a 50+ new songs on there now. By the end of the summer, should be about, well... a LOT more than that. I'd have more on here now, but I frankly don't have the HardDrive space.

Question: How many of those mp3's are legal?

I don't see how people find it impressive that they have like 3000+ mp3's when they download about 90% of them.

My mp3 list is at ~1700 right now. And yes, all those are legal...

All of mine are legal -- I either own the game from which they came, the artist game permission (such as Flexor/Crystal Nova), or I own the CD.

997 songs, 5.6 gigs, most of them legal (freeware). I listen to them all here and there. Demon--don't even start a debate on the legality of piracy (or lack thereof) because that's obviously what you were trying to do when you posted that. It's been done to death here.

My point is that I don't see why people feel they are cool when they post a massive mp3 list when they own actually very few of the CD's they have songs from.

That's my point. At the college I goto, some people do that to me all the time. "Hey man, I have over 5000 mp3's on my computer". That's my annoyance with it...I never knew that downloading a large amount of songs made you cooler than the rest.

That is my point.

Who here was trying to be cool? A thread was started in which, if you wanted, you could post your playlist. I haven't run across anything that appears to be bragging yet.

Mine are all CDs, I haven't seriously downloaded anything in a very long time. I have only about 20 songs that I downloaded. That's over a one year period. I don't download often at all. I have about 15 or 20 more CDs in the house I want to rip, but can't because I only have about 2 gig on my drive free. I need that for things other than music right now. So if you think I'm bragging or trying to be cool, you are greatly mistaken. Mp3's via 56k modem is not fun.

It's no different than asking how many CDs someone has in their collection. No one said it made you "cooler" to have more mp3s, I have that many mp3s because they are songs and tracks I listen to quite frequently. Get off your soapbox.
