Good drum program?

I'm thinking about recording a lil something, but I'd need some drum software to provide a bit of drum stuff. Is there anything that's free and decent at it?

I use and like Hammerhead. Dunno the url, but a quick Google search should do the trick.

I spent quite a while writing a tutorial JUST FOR MASSASSI on this very subject (using Fruity) that noone read.

Yeah, but fruity isn't free =/

Buzz is free, but getting used to a tracker-styled-sequencer is pretty tricky

If you can't get something working, I'd be willing to make a few drumloops for you based on what you want.

You wrote a tutorial? I must've missed it.

I didn't make a big deal of it in any kind of way, so it was probably just overlooked.

That first link is the link to it, though.

is the link to the actual thread. Since noone read it, though, I never bothered to finish part 2.

I sequence the drums in MIDI (using Noteworthy or Guitar Pro 4, sometimes even Sonar), and then play them through a SoundFont to get high-quality drummage!!111eleven!!1! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

This is what I've been doing lately, although some of my drum edits are using 1/64th notes and it's been messing up the soundfont player during rendering. It's quite the odd problem...

This soundfont thing looks really promising, could one of you guys run over the basics of it for me? I'm trying to figure out exactly what I need to download to do it...

I use sfz (google it) as a plugin for Sonar, but it'll run in any VST host program, or in a DX host program with a wrapper. Load the SoundFont in sfz, and change the MIDI output for your drum track to point to the sfz plugin [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]
