Finale NotePad

I downloaded this free program after I read about it in one of the other threads and it is super-awesome, except I can't seem to be able to make it into a MIDI. That is to say, I can save it as the file that is in the program, but I would like to be able to convert it into at least a MIDI file so it can be played without the program. If anyone knows how this can be done I would appreciate this information very much. Thank you.

NOTE: When I say "it", I am referring to music things I make with this program.

Two possibilities. Either try File>Export, or see if you change the file type in the Save As dialog. It's also possible that NotePad, since it's the free version, doesn't support midi exporting.

After looking at the site, I'm pretty sure you can't export as midi. There's a ad thing for NotePad Plus, and it says it's NotePad plus the ability to open/save/export as midi. It's only $25 dollars if you're interested. If you're not interested in paying but still want it, just get Sibelius instead. It's better. *cough*

Or a bigger Finale.

Thanks. But what I want to know is: I have composed a piece of music in Finale NotePad (the free version), is there perhaps another free program that supports the file type used by this program and can it convert my piece of music into a MIDI? I know I can just remake the same music in another program that is used for MIDI (one that doesn't exactly use the same format), but I am just wondering if there is an alternative which can help me do this quickly (especially if I ever make a more complex piece of music which won't be so easily re-made in a more tedious program). Thank you again.

NOTE: I'll look into this Sibelius. Maybe it already has the answer I'm looking for.

If you just want to export to midi, check out Noteworthy Composer (someone's mentioned that). It's not as easy to use as Finale, but it should have everything you need. I think it's only limitation in the free version is limited saves, but when you use up your limit, just copy everything in the file and paste it to a new one. Heh.

I think it's ten saves. The full version isn't expensive either.
