just got back from a concert. the band was The Films previously known as Tinkers Punishment. Their new songs are AMAZING! I've never really danced before at a concert, but I did. so much fun. http://www.hearthefilms.com is the site, not sure if there is any audio. they're really awesome and great guys, helped us design some logos and stuff for my band.

as a side note, my band made it to round 3 of a single-elimination battle of the bands. it's one of the more prestigious local band events in Atlanta with over 128 of Atlanta's best bands playing one song a night to see if they progress to the next round. we played tonight, went and saw the Films and then went back to hear the results. so, we're in the top 32 bands! that makes me happy. tons of local and big name labels are gonna be there tomorrow as well as booking agents at other venues and stuff. i'm really excited and i hate myself for being so young.

Hey, the Films quote David Bowie on their page. Maybe I would actually like them. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Good luck.
I don't think I've ever heard of any bands from Atlanta. *looks up*

Hmm... it looks like OutKast if from Atlanta. Sorry, you guys are only my second favorite Atlanta band.
Hey, you're from the same state as REM!

Collective Soul
The Black Crowes
John Mayer
Angi Aparro
Ani DeFranco
Bain Mattox

right now Atlanta is stuck in the singer/songwriter rut, but it's coming around.

I either don't like or haven't heard much by any of those bands. I did like the Collective Soul song I've heard though.

What are the other bands there like? Anything really interesting?

At the contest or Atlanta in general?

There's a few bands/songwriters I've heard at the contest that I've really really liked. Although most of the ones I really liked I've heard before.

Ryan McDougall
Chad Yochum
The Cogburns
Empire Never Ends
Sonjay
Daniel Lee

and then a few really awesome local bands that are just starting to gain a big following:

Red Letter Agent - if you like Coldplay... if you dont, dont bother checking them out

Y-O-U - they're fun

The Whigs - fun alternative, you'd probably like them.

Bain Mattox - Athens based pop-rock. Think REM with an accordion and a different singer.

I could go either way. I think I'll check them out, along with the other bands you mentioned.

Ya... they're playing at Swayze's. It's a dive and 99% of the bands that play there are talentless hacks.

I doubt you'll find any on there, maybe Bain Mattox and Red Letter Agent if you're lucky.

www.purevolume.com/ryanmcdougall (or soundclick.com/ryanmcdougall)

www.soundclick.com/redletteragent

www.bainmattox.com

www.soundclick.com/chadyochum

those are the URLs I know that have songs on them...

and the Films... no songs on their website (www.hearthefilms.com) and if you are looking for P2P try Tinkers Punishment. Like they JUST changed their name last month and you'll find their old music under Tinkers Punishment.
