Chord names

I've got this set of chords I use a lot and I don't officially know the names of them. They're based on an Em9, but with different bass notes.

Em9 - 02403x
C(?) - x3403x (has a b5)
D(?) - x 5403x

Or if someone knows of a site or program that can name chords, that'd be useful, too.

not any attempt to derail the thread or anything, but I always found that coming up with your own ideas for chords instead of constantly referncing your music to the ideals of some random music guy from way back when, you'll be much more productive jamming away with "that chord that makes the mint sound" instead of trying to remember how to intricately play Eb7 or whatever.

it makes playing by ear 100x easier too.

If I'm writing a song, though, I'd want to have the chord name as exact as possible.

~

Something jogged my memory. If I remember right, "add" chords add a note without removing the following note. (like C(add9) would add a D note without taking away the following E, but a C2 would add a D note and take out the following E (changes to a G note, I think).) So if I'm right, the C above would be C(add b5) and the D would be D(add4).
Someone want to check me on that? I'm not sure if it's right.

I don't know the chord construction (I always get Cadd9 mixed up with C9, two of my favorite chords that are really similar), but on this site, you can do a "reverse chord search", which will tell you the chords if you put in which frets are played.

That didn't even have the same Em9 chord I use in it's index. :(

You could call the second Em9/C and the third Dsus.

But just write them out and avoid the whole issue...

<3 DogS :p

I usually add the F# in if I'm strumming on my accoustic, as such - 200232.

Wouldn't that technically be a D/F# ?

The chords I posted initially aren't so good for strumming, btw. I used them in the verses of the song I posted, if you want to hear what they sound like.
