I was going to bump my "I'm seeing Brian Wilson" thread, but it's over three weeks old and I didn't want to piss off a mod or PM them and wait for a response. So I'll start a new thread.
The concert was awesome. My dad and I saw him in the Orpheum, an old theater in Minneapolis.
Brian Wilson had a bunch of other people also playing.
They started out playing some softer songs while sitting in a circle. That was good, except there wasn't much energy.
Then, they all spread out over the stage and started rocking. They played the three best songs from Pet Sounds: God Only Knows, Wouldn't It Be Nice, and Sloop John B.
Those were pure awesomeness.
Then they played Smile. It was brilliant.
I do have to point out, though, that I have a hard time following complex music that I'm not familiar with in concert.
It was an incredible display of weirdness. They had one part about vegetables, where everyone in the string and horn section took out vegetables and started chomping on them or waving them around.
There was a part about pirates where one guy who was playing guitar put a fake hook on his hand and played guitar with it. It was hilarious. Then that guy put down the hook and started waving a jolly roger around.
There was one part where a guy took out a saw and a piece of wood, and started sawing it as part of the music.
Then there was a part where red lights started flashing and alarms went off, and the string and horns section were all wearing fire helmets. The music got really heavy there. Then fake fire appeared all over the stage.
It was really cool.
I hope Smile arrives in the mail tomorrow.

It's not the side effects of cocaine, so then I'm thinking that it must be love
