Hey-o-lah.

I'm looking into some equipment to perform vocals... stuff i'll be after includes a cheapo microphone and some kind of effects box which will allow me to mess with the sounds that come out my mouth... something with high and low end as i've messed with effects things that cut out if i get too high or too low (my range is quite large).

something which can increase/decrease pitch, add a kinda radio static, put sounds in a loop, whatever.

actually, i just realised that these pieces of kit may not just be for vocalists... any help in the right direction would be nice.

i like to use the voice as a flexible tool of music, limiting it to just singing words seems like such a waste.

This is the 4-track recorder I'm using right now, and it works fine. It can do all of those things you mentioned, but you have to learn how to use it... it's a fairly complicated tool. The best part is it has an internal mic that sounds pretty good, and it's very sensitive... perfect if you want to do whispery vocals. Highly recommended, but you have to learn how to use it.
