Post the most disappointing CD you've ever purchased (or intended to, but changed your mind.)

A Perfect Circle - eMOTIVe

This CD is... blech.

Some finnish rap albums. I'm glad I sold them and got lots of money of them :)
Star Wars: TODOA | DXN - Deus Ex: Nihilum

After Forever - Exordium.

Then again, Invisible Circles DID make up for it.

Drive Like Jehu's CD "Yank Crime" got rave reviews from everywhere, and they had the guitarist from Rocket From The Crypt in the band. I bought it, and it wasn't terrible... just not RFTC-great.

Also, I got the new Piebald CD, and that was crap. There shouldn't be two songs you like on a CD of 14 songs.

Lo Fidelity Allstars - How To Operate With A Blown Mind

I heard Battleflag on the radio and thought it kicked ***, so I ran out and bought it, later to realize that this was the only good song on the album. I still keep the CD to remind me to never do something so stupid again.

Californication and By the Way. Very meh, after the awesomeness that is Blood Sugar Sex Magic.

I don't know...I thought tracks 1 & 2 on Exordium were awesome songs - just really liked Beneath for some reason. My Choice was alright - didn't think it was worthy of having a video shot for it though. Didn't like the Maiden cover though - as I don't even like Maiden's original.

Agreed on Invisible Circles!

um... INTERPOL! whatever their first album was called. I heard rave reviews, bought it. Listened to it once and havent seen it since I threw it into a dark corner of my room.

Hey spork, whats with the gasp? I really like them, but the album had 4 or 5 bad songs on it
nope.

You mean Turn On the Bright Lights? I think it's pretty good, not fantastic, but solid. It surprises me that you don't like it; it seems like it'd be right up your alley. *shrugs* :)

Hmm, I really liked it... their new album came out a couple weeks ago, so I'm gonna check that out.

Out of 11, I call that a decent strike rate. Not spectacular, but decent. Especially when the good songs are so flimming good, as is the case with Franz Ferdinand. IMO there were about 2 'not-up-to-scratch-with-the-others' songs :p

Bad Religion-The Empire Strikes First
It's not that it's bad , it's just not as good as some of their earlier stuff. Actually, that applies to their last couple of CDs.
Primus-Antipop
I don't know what it is, but I just can't stand Antipop. Lacquerhead is pretty much the only song I can stand listening to.

Listen to One Hot Minute and you'll appreciate those a little bit more ;)

Metallica - St. Anger. Where the hell are the solos and why do they go nu-metal? :(

I don't think I have bought an album that has dissapointed me. Though I never just go out an buy an album, I get opinions,, try to hear samples songs, ect. just to make sure I will get something I'll regret.

My guess is that it's too post-punkish for him. They're sort of like a more polished version of Joy Division.
I used to love the album, but I don't like it quite as much as I used to.

Most post-Replacements Paul Westerberg stuff (except his more recent albums)
REM- Around the Sun
All of David Bowie's albums between Scary Monsters and Heathen
It's not the side effects of cocaine, so then I'm thinking that it must be love

Also: Johnny Marr and the Healers- Boomslang

One of the greatest guitarists of the last 20 years forms a band with Ringo Starr's son and releases an album... and it sucks horribly.

I liked those two as well - but the "album" was way too much of a small promotion, especially with the DVD extra, and the tiny listening time. I was expecting a decent album, you know. :p
