I'm not too good with genres (I rarely research music, usually just listen to it). Don't be suprised if I've made up a few of my own.

Ambient: Carbon Based Lifeforms - MOS 6581
Bluegrass: Nickel Creek - House of Tom Bombadil
Classical (Modern): Howard Shore - The Bridge Of Khazad Dum
Goa: Astral Projection - 12,000 Suns
Pop (Rock): Nelly Furtado - Turn Off The Light
Rock (Classic): Blue Oyster Cult - I Love The Night
Rock (Gothic): Cradle Of Filth - Downfall
Rock (Metal): Rammstein - Sonne
Rock (Trance): Pink Floyd - Welcome To The Machine
Techno: Paul Oakenfold - Lost Tribe / Gamemaster
World: Enya - Orinoco Flow

I give up. I don't think that any of these are even real categories. I suck at these threads. I usually just download and/or buy crap and listen to it despite never knowing what genre it is in. Hopefully you at least get the point. I could go on all day about my favorite tracks, but it really comes down to what type of mood I'm in.

Cradle isn't gothic. More like death/black metal.
