Any fans of them? I have their album In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, and it's great.

Ohhh, I love this band. I love the music they play... I guess you would call it folk rock? They have influenced a lot of bands as well. A classic band in my book.

If you like NMH, check out The Decemberists and Dolorean. You can download The Search by Dolorean at their record site. Tell me what you think. :)

I'm downloading the song now. I won't be able to listen to it right away though.

I don't know if you could call them folk-rock. They're a bit acoustic-psychadelic too. They call themselves "fuzz-folk".

Glen Phillips does a pretty good cover of Two Headed Boy part 1: mp3

I'll listen to that song! I forgot about it. But I'm busy listening to Big Star now, and they're one of the greatest bands ever, so I'm not gonna interrupt them.

I'm surprised that you're the only one here who's heard of them.
You'd think that with a message board of nerds and geeks, more people would listen to non-mainstream music.

Yeah, I don't think a lot of people here like folk and alt. country music around here. I love it though, and some of my favorite bands have the folk sound to them. Weren't you the one that said you listened to The Mountain Goats and liked them? I love that band so much.

And I take offense to being called a "nerd and geek". :p

How about nerd and/or geek?

I've only heard ITAOTS, but it's truly not that countryish or folkish to me, except for the use of instruments.

Two-Headed Boy pt 1 is a really interesting song by the way it's written. The only instrument is an acoustic guitar, but it's not noticable. It sounds like just a really weird rock song.

I liked the Mountain Goats song I heard. They are kind of similar in that they have a weird approach to making music.

Sounds like a British Druggie band--Milk Bars, or rather milk laced with drugs bars, were quite common a while back across the pond ;)
