Looking for a multieffects pedal
2004-10-31, 5:11 PM #1
hey guys, i was just wondering if any of you know a good multieffect pedal. i was thinking of getting a separate wah pedal and distortion, but i found that this is easier. Price range is below 200 dollars. All i really need is the wah pedal, distortion, and making sure that you can play bass on it (don't think that one matters much). Any help would be awesome.

Thanks in advance.

it matters alot actually. effect pedals are built to affect the frequency range of their respective instruments. so you'd need bass effects.

try to find a Boss GT-6B, it's probably a bit more expensive, but even if you don't buy it, you'll have a pretty good idea of what to look for in a bass processor.

I recommend the ToneWorks AX1500G. (I made a thread with some sound samples from it.) List price is $350. At www.musiciansfriend.com and www.music123.com, it's $199.99. I got mine on ebay for $135 in near mint condition. (It even still had the plastic over the display screen.) There are others listed there, and you might be able to get one cheaper.
I haven't tried it with bass. However, the AX1G worked reasonably with bass, I would imagine the much improved AX1500G would work with it, too.

for under $200 if all you want is distortion and wah get separate pedals... the quality of the effects will be better...

however with a wah it's one pedal where you need one that is either made specifically for bass or has a switch that allows for proper function with a bass

wah is one pedal where it will sound horrible if you use a bass on it

for wah i'd suggest a Vox V848 Clyde McCoy wah
eat right, exercise, die anyway
