Why did no one tell me how awesome this band is?

I thought London Calling was lame when I first heard it.

Now, I love it!
It's not the side effects of cocaine, so then I'm thinking that it must be love

Rudy Can't Fail and Guns of Brixton are great.
If it breaks, you get to keep both pieces.

The Clash are just one of many, many excellent punk bands from the late 70's. Clash fans should also check out these albums released from in 1977:

Television- Marquee Moon (1977)
Richard Hell and the Voidoids- Blank Generation (1977)
The Ramones- Rocket to Russia (1977)
Wire- Pink Flag (1977)
Iggy Pop- Lust for Life (1977)
The Damned- Damned Damned Damned (1977)

That's barely scratching the surface. I could list more from before and after that year.

Golden.

The Clash is a classic band... surprised you haven't heard of them. Like dry gear said, "The Clash are just one of many, many excellent punk bands from the late 70's" and add Against Me to that list.

Against Me isn't from the 70's though. Do they sound like 70's punk? Because if so, you've sold me on them.
I should start a 70's punk thread.

No, Against Me! Is completely different from the Clash, but they do still rule. You should check them out, more specifically Burn, Baby I'm an Anarchist, I still Love You Julie, and Nah Nah Nah.

I <3 The Clash.
I <3 Against Me.
I <3 Television.
I <3 <3's.

Oh yeah, I forgot that list was a 70s band list. Against Me do have the classic punk sound though, and their inspirations were The Clash and The Replacements. Didn't you say you downloaded the CD Revinventing Axl Rose? It's the best CD ever made... every song is classic.

Did I download it? Good question. I thought I did, but must have forgotten about it.
Good God, the Replacements! They're one of my favorite bands!
I think I'll just buy it. I lost the folder where I downloaded it.
