The Streets

Anybody here like The Streets?
It's probably what hip-hop would sound like if it were invented in England.
It's not the side effects of cocaine, so then I'm thinking that it must be love

I love em, got both their albums, seen them twice.

quality music, doesn't show off or bloat itself like most rap and hip-hop does.

and to be honest, the streets sound fairly unique in this country compared to the majority of hip-hop acts... stuff like them and dizzee rascal are a new wave of funky weirdness coming about.

I've only heard two of their songs, but I really liked both of them, and have contemplated getting the album before.

Maybe I should think about it again.

It's gotten really good reviews, you should get it.

I heard a Dizzee Rascal song on the radio once. That was weird.

I have both of their albums and I really like them both. They are so British, and that makes them extra cool.

It's like a British street poet (there's only one member, BTW)
Is he popular in the mainstream hip-hop community?

the streets are massively popular in england.

the two times i saw them were at leeds 03 and 04.... on a huge main stage in front of tens of thounsands of people (they played on a smaller stage at 02 when they just got popular but i didnt watch much that year.

anyone who likes anything rap/hip-hop should check them out, they make terribly original music, fun stuff.

I hate the streets, theres nothing more frustrating then some english guy prattling on about how crappy something in his life is in general, you want that, so listen to people on a bus in london
nope.
