I'm seeing the Pixies tomorrow at 7:30 at the Target Center (I think that's where it is, at least).
It's gonna be awesome, except this band called The Dasunds is opening and I hear they suck.

I'll tell all about it after the concert.

Tonberry, the Pixies reunited last year after breaking up 10 years before.

Time of my life, eh? Well, I hope so! I have heard recordings of their first reunion concert and it was awesome.

It actually wasn't at the target center. It was at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium. I forgot when I made that other post.
Here's what I posted at TACC about the concert:

The Pixies concert last night was awesome!!!
My friend I went with had an extra ticket because he got one for his wife, but she ended up having to work, so when we got there we stood around for awhile trying to sell the ticket. I had heard the opening band sucked anyway. Nobody bought it, so after a while we went in. The opening band really did mostly suck. They're The Datsuns. There was one song that was interesting because they played a Television-like solo, but otherwise, bleh. It was mostly like bad 70's metal.

I got a cool t-shirt. On the front it said "Pixies", and on the back it said "Pixies Sellout" and listed the tour dates.

So when the Pixies came on, we were happy. I think Frank Black actually lost weight since the last picture of him I saw. For some reason, Kim Deal looked a lot younger than some of the pictures of her I've seen. She came out with a cigarette in her mouth, and when I saw her pick up her bass while smoking I just got a feeling of seeing classic Kim Deal.
So the first song they did was probably my least favorite. I like the recorded version of whatever song it is, but I don't remember which one it was.
I was so excited when they went into Head On for their second song. I was really hoping to see them play it, but wasn't expecting them to. Near the end, they played the first part of Nimrod's Son, and then went into three other songs, and then finished Nimrod.

Their voices were all in top shape. I was really impressed with Kim's singing. Also, everyone was really good with their instruments. Joey did some really cool stuff during Vamos. Frank went back and leaned on the drum stand, still playing rhythm while Joey started doing some soloing. Then he put the guitar on the stand and the strings kept vibrating, and he went over to his effects dials and petals and started playing around with those while the guitar was going. Then Dave tossed him a drumstick and kept drumming with one hand, and Joey started waving the drumstick around like he was conducting. Then he went over to his guitar and tried bowing it with the drumstick. Then he tossed it in the air but didn't catch it. He tried again and then caught it and we all cheered. Then he tossed the drumstick back to Dave, who caught it and immediately started drumming with both hands again. Then Joey played around with the effects more and took out his cell phone and took a picture of the audience. Then he picked his guitar back up and Frank came back to the center and went back to singing and they finished the song. It was so awesome.

Here's a tracklist I found:

thats an awesome set.... bet that kicked *** a severe amount....

*listens to caribou*

Definitely. It was better than any of the setlists I've read for their other shows.

I wish they'd played Bone Machine though.

Caribou was nicely done. Joey did some interesting stuff during the guitar solo for that one, but nothing like Vamos.

hah, that song is entirely based around making crazy guitar noises, bet it was quite a jam live.

It's the kind of thing that would be incredibly boring most of the time on a recording, but is great live.

That's sounds awesome, dry gear! Would you mind if I posted about and compared my Pixies experience? I don't want to hijack your thread, so if you'd like me to I could just start a new thread of my own. :)

Go right ahead.
I love your sig, BTW.
