Review:
Went to the Pageant Saturday night. Opening act was called The Exit. Nice sounds, but no memorable songs. I'd listen to them again, but I wouldn't go if they were headlining.
At ~9:45, Muse took the stage. They didn't have the jumbotron with them, but they did have the metal keyboard stand with LEDs all over the thing. LEDs were hooked directly to the keys, which was cool. It was also programmed with several songs, and the LED effects were really neat. The backdrop to the show was the wall of human figures from Origin of Symmetry. Most awesomeness.
Anyway, the show. Opening song was Butterflies and Hurricanes. It drove the crowd to jumping like crazy. It was amazing. The lead singer started on guitar, then put it down and went back to the keyboard to play the solo, which is borrowed from Liszt, but is ridiculously awesome.
I can't remember the exact order, but they played most of Absolution, and a handful of songs off the other two albums. Bliss, New Born, Plug in Baby, and Muscle Museum were the ones I remember off of non-Absolution albums. Muscle Musuem was ridiculously good, as was Apocalypse Please, Hysteria, and Time is Running Out. The only slow songs they played were Sing for Absolution and Ruled by Secrecy, which were both amazing. After rocking out with Bliss, Muse left the stage. They were called back for an encore and finished the show with Stockholm Syndrome, which again was absolutely amazing. The lighting and the lead singer's pose during the chorus made him appear almost divine.
The show was about an hour and a half long, which is shorter than some shows I've been to, but plenty long. The only things I wish would have happened that didn't, and these are very minor, was that they would have talked to the crowd more(from one of my friends who saw them earlier, he said they were more talkative this show, and they weren't all that talkative at all; they thanked St. Louis a few times, and that was about it) and I wish they would have played Falling Away With You, because I absolutely love that song. But again, those things were minor and the concert was too good to worry about little things like that.
Overall, I can honestly say that the Muse show was the greatest I've ever been to. If you have a chance to see them live, you'd be a fool to pass it up. I'm still reeling from the sheer awesomeness of the show. If I had died after the concert, I would have died happy.
