Hey man, stop it with the blatant attacks! It's not Scooty's fault if your mouse-clicking skills are lackluster! And "New Song" isn't original. Next time, try something like "Grab the tentacles, Mr. Poofalego!"

DogSRoOL, you are out of control.

NOOOOOOO! Dont take lessons! That's a cop-out! If you do it on your own then you can be like "Didnt take lessons *****!" and people will be really impressed.

You don't need to sing perfectly to be a good rock singer... just listen to The Flaming Lips.
It's not the side effects of cocaine, so then I'm thinking that it must be love

Schming is right. I don't think you really need lessons, anyway. You just need to be made aware of some simple things that can cause you to sing flat. Some of these are:
  1. Bad monitor/stage mix. Unless you started performing at a very young age, you're not going to be used to not having your voice in the monitor. I know someone, however, who prefers her voice not to be in the monitor, and still sings perfectly, but she's been on stage since she was 13.
  2. Being nervous (although you didn't sound like you were) or uncomfortable
  3. Simply not being used to stage performance (which can really only be fixed by more experience, as far as I know).
  4. The shape of your mouth. If you don't open your mouth wide enough it changes the tone of the pitch. Probably not a problem with your style of music, though.
  5. Air control. More air flowing out will sharpen the pitch, less air will flatten it. Use your lungs to control the air flow. If you're using your vocal flap to restrict air flow, you'll sing off key most likely. You can tell if your doing it wrong because you can feel a muscle in your chest tighten. This was one the primary cause for me, and it's something I'm still working on. Certain music styles, such as yours, might not be so friendly to this concept. And some people can control their pitch fine with both air control methods, but try them both and see which works better for you personally.

Something else that I don't quite know how to explain. When going for high notes, come down "on top" of it instead of reaching for it. When reaching for it, it feels like the air is coming up to the note. Coming down on top, it will feel like the air comes straight out.
