Post your favorite guitar solo! Do it! You know you want to.

Mine would be Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd.

I've always liked the guitar solo in Iron Maiden - Phantom of the Opera.

I'm very fond of Alexi's solo in Sinergy's "The ***** is Back" but I can't decide what solo I like best, there are so many good ones.

I love the one in Richie Kotzen's "out take", well thought chromatic lines are just sexy.

Van Halen's "I'm the one". both solos, just some great rock guitar right there.

Steve Vai's Get The Hell Outta here, tender surrender, juice.

aaargh

too many. there's no such thing as a best guitar solo.

It might not be overly technical but the solo in Amon Amarth - And Soon The World Will Cease To Be is great...

Children of Bodom - Needled 24/7. Somehow, I just can't help loving that solo.

Led Zepplin - Dazed and Confused

more preferably the live versions he does with it(the long, long ones) with the expanded violin solo too, from the Live Zepplin DVD.

I love Children of Bodom. They are one of the most underrated metal bands out there in my opinion.
2005-01-06, 11:55 AM #13
I don't see how you can call them underrated, almost everyone who likes metal and has heard them likes them.

What you should be saying is "frustratingly relatively unknown" or something.

Agreed. My favourites would definitely be some of Dream Theater's or Sonata Arctica's.

Jimmy Page's solos are amazing.

That one 12 minute bass solo. I think it was Petrucci or someone.
