My guitar - when used with my new wireless thingey - is scratchy, as if I hooked my guitar up directly to the sound system without a DI box. I am then assuming there is a ground potential mismatch. Since the wireless unit wasn't specifically designed for guitar, is there some kind of thing I can add to the input? I was thinking a capactor, but that would also cut out my input power completely, which would be useless and pointless.

No, it's somehow related to the power supply of the transmitter. That much I'm certain.
