To start off I should say that I don't really like this band. They are too metal for my taste.

However, I think a lot of you would like them. A lot of the people who are really into metal that I've talked to love Ministry.

Here's the AMG page about them.

They were a sort of industrial type metal band that started either in the late 80's or early 70's. They were a huge influence on Nine Inch Nails.

If you look at the discography tab on the AMG link, you'll see that a lot of their earlier albums didn't get good reviews. See, they had always intended to be a metal band, but at first the record label forced them to record synth-pop stuff instead.

I don't think it was until their album The Land of Rape and Honey in 1988 that their heavy sound came out.
After that, they released some good albums. A lot of the big metalheads that I've talked to say that they haven't heard anything heavier than at least one of these albums, and that all of them are really really good.

Here is their list of albums that are supposed to be really good:
The Land of Rape and Honey
The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Waste
Psalm 69

The metalhead that I talked to that liked Ministry a lot also said that Filth Pig is a good album, and that it's underrated.

I think they have clips if you click on discography and then on an album, and then a song. Check them out and tell us what you think.
It's not the side effects of cocaine, so then I'm thinking that it must be love
