~ is also like a semi- harmonic, so you just pick the string a bit like a pinched harmonic, but just to add more color to the otherwise very boring open string.

Can you explain the / notation? Also, can you tell me how to do pinch harmonics? I read some site that tried to explain it, but it left me more confused than when I started.

The /'s mean slide from an earlier fret on the same string of your choosing really fast so it sounds kinda cool. Like just put your finger on nothing and then jam it on a random fret below 2 and slide to 2. (I guess someone like Seb could explain it better.)

yeah, drizzt pretty much nailed it. you slide To the note from nothing. you could go 6/7 or 1/7 or 3/7 for all I care, although i prefer to do a long slide when I have to slide to a higher note, gives more texture this way then just a quick slide. it's important that /7 doesn't sound like two notes though, so if you slide from around the first fret to the 7th one, you must hear only the "slide to" and the 7th fret note.

on another note, I've started tabbing out and learning jag panzer's frozen in fear.
