Post your favorite movie / tv show soundtracks.
You don't have to like every song on the soundtrack, just if there are a few songs that you really like and/or just like the mix of songs the soundtrack has.

- Band of Brothers
- Top Gun

This should probably go in the Music Discussion forum.

Oh, and LotR, obviously. The last one was the best.

I've got quite a few movie soundtracks that I really like in my cd collection.

John Williams: Star Wars - ANH, ROTJ, TPM, AOTC
Howard Shore: LOTR Trilogy
Hans Zimmer: Gladiator, Pearl Harbor

LOTR would be the ones I would listen to most often at the moment.

If you liked that then you'll like the soundtrack from The Life Aquatic. It's even better.

I've also got the Red vs. Blue soundtrack, which rocks...
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

oh and President Evil of course. we havent even started filming but we have almost all the music ready. it's gonna be the best 45 minutes of music ever, if not the best action movie of all time.

I don't know if they count as soundtracks, but I absolutely love the accompanying music for the Cirque du Soleil shows, particularly Dralion and Varekai (which I got to see in person, 3rd row, and it was... amazing).

For movies...
Being John Malkovich
I am Sam (even if the movie kinda sucked)
Romeo + Juliet (both soundtrack and score)
Basquiat
Donnie Darko (what was in the actual movie, not the empty cd)
Dancer in the Dark
Point of no Return (Nina Simone yay)
Willy Wonka!
This is Spinal Tap

All I can think of now that isn't overly redundant with what's been posted (where's Star Wars in ya'll's lists???).

And at the risk of being flamed (by gbk?) I didn't really care for the music in Blade Runner...

Ever heard Allegria?

I was hesitating whether to put the Allegria film soundtrack in my movies section but I felt it was redundant (and I'm prolix enough as it is). But I have that one and also the film soundtrack to Journey of Man.

Silent Hill 2 Soundtrack
What if everything that exists is fragmentary, incomplete, aborted, events with ends but no beginnings with us constantly making categories, seeking out, and reconstructing, until we think we can see total love, betrayal and defeat, although in reality we are all no more than haphazard fractions. The mind, for its own self-preservation, finds and integrates scattered fragments. Using religion and philosophy as the cement, we perpetualy collect and assemble all the garbage comprised by statistics in order to make sense out of things, to make everything respond in one unified voice like a bell chiming to our glory. But it's only soup. The mathematical order of the universe is our answer to the pyramids of chaos. - Stanislaw Lem
