We've had one of these before, but it's been a while.

Jump, Little Children - By the Way They Dance

Always always always brings tears to my eyes because it reminds me of true love. My grandparents, my parents, and my relationships. Mainly my grandparents, who were hopeless romantics up until the day my grandmother died. It's a beautiful song that conveys a beautiful emotion. Even typing this brought tears to my eyes just because it made me think of the song.
"Those ****ing amateurs... You left your dog, you idiots!"

The thing about stuff like this is when something in a song moves you, and you play the song for your friend, he or she is unimpressed. Songs have different effects on everyone like that

I'll come in with my own in a while.
It's not the side effects of cocaine, so then I'm thinking that it must be love

Gee think I might say.... Damien Rice - The Blower's Daughter :D

The bit that gets me every time in this song is when it builds up around 'the colder water, the blower's daughter, the pupil in denial'. Magic.

Radiohead - Creep. The end of that song is really powerful, even though the start is lyrically my favourite part.

Snow Patrol - Run. The second chorus goes for about 2 min, but it gets me every time.

Coldplay - Amsterdam. The end.

Muse - Butterflies and Hurricanes. After the piano solo.

Alright. These don't make sense but oh well.

Flogging Molly-Within a mile of home. Towards the end he's half singing, half yelling "sing to me! sing me a song! A song from yesterday..." it gets me everytime.

Reinveting Axle Rose- Against me! "and we'll dance like no one was watching, with one fist in the air" that one line kills me.

8 full hours of sleep- Against me! "and the sun's always rising in the sky somewhere" that always brings a tear to my eye.
It took a while for you to find me; I was hiding in the lime tree.

Radiohead - Paranoid Android

During the acoustic part around 3 and a half minutes.

WARNING-
[Radiohead Fanboyism]

Radiohead - Fake Plastic Trees
The "climax" of the song.

She looks like the real thing
She tastes like the real thing
My fake plastic love

But I can't help the feeling
I could blow through the ceiling
If I just turn and run

And it wears me out, it wears me out
It wears me out, it wears me out

And if I could be who you wanted
If I could be who you wanted
All the time, all the time

Radiohead - Street Spirit (Fade Out)
Immerse your soul in love

Radiohead - Pyrimad Song
And We All Went to Heaven in a little row boat.

Radiohead - Exit Music
End of the song:

And you can laugh a spineless laugh,
we hope your rules and wisdom choke you.

And now we are one
in everlasting peace,

we hope that you choke, that you choke,
we hope that you choke, that you choke,
we hope that you choke, that you choke.

Radiohead - Paranoid Android
The Last part before the end solo:

Rain down, rain down
Come on rain down on me
From a great height
From a great height... height...
Rain down, rain down
Come on rain down on me
From a great height
From a great height... height...
Rain down, rain down
Come on rain down on me

That's it, sir
You're leaving
The crackle of pigskin
The dust and the screaming
The yuppies networking
The panic, the vomit
The panic, the vomit
God loves his children, God loves his children, yeah!

[/Radiohead Fanboyism]

Muse - Butterflies and Hurricanes
Great Song

Coldplay - The Scientist

More to come, for sure.

Definately, Pyramid Song is such a powerful piece, it gets me into some sort of trance, a feeling of self worth even. Have you seen the video?

It's my screen saver, I really love it. Favorite song on Amnesiac.

The second part of Jean-Michel Jarre - Ethnicolor

And the Luke vs. Vader battle parts from John Williams - The Battle of Endor II

Probably many else, like the choir parts of Geinoh Yamashirogumi - Tetsuo, but nothing more comes up to my mind yet. Damn.
Star Wars: TODOA | DXN - Deus Ex: Nihilum

I Guess:

Barenaked Ladies - When I Fall

It's not really that it affects me in any really noticable way, but it is by far the most beautiful song I have ever heard, lyrically and musically.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Explosions In The Sky yet. The Only Moment We Were Alone is one of the most moving, powerful songs I've listened to. Absolutely breathtaking, especially when you take into account that it's an instrumental song.

My favorite songs build up to that powerful climax that gives me goosebumps, so naturally I love any song by Elliott, Burning Paris, On Fire, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Jeniferever, and Appleseed Cast.

YES!

Godspeed You Black Emperor - Mother****er==Redeemer is GREAT....really good.

A Silver Mt. Zion is really good.

Explosions in the Sky...man... Greet Death, Yasmin The Light, Remember Me As A Time Of Day...too many to count.

Big Star- Kangaroo
It's hard to describe why, but it's a part where the percussion goes "ding ding", or perhaps it's "dong dong". Either way, just the way it's placed in the song, it's powerful.

Lou Reed- No Chance
The album was written after he lost two close friends to cancer in the same year.
The most moving part in the song is where he says that he visited one in the hospital, and the friend acted like he felt fine. Lou thought the friend was going to be better, so he didn't call after that.
The friend croaked... and Lou didn't get a chance to say goodbye.

The Replacements- Answering Machine
It might not mean as much outside of the context of the song, but these lines in it are very powerful:
"Trying to free a slave from ignorance
Trying to teach a whore about romance"
It's not the side effects of cocaine, so then I'm thinking that it must be love

I am totally on the same level here, I love that in a song.

You are also right about the lack of EITS, my favorite song of theirs personally is Magic Hours, but in terms of really moving\powerful, I would have to go with Remember Me As A Time Of Day, which is just a great song.

Yeah, Magic Hours is a great song. I love how the hi-hat comes in 5 minutes into the song, then the super-distorted guitar comes in and everything just blows up.

Astral Projection - 12,000 Suns
Astral Projection - Ambient Galaxy (Disco Valley)

When I listen to these tracks, I close my mind and imagine that I'm piloting some sort of spacecraft through space at an incomprehensible speed. When Star Wars becomes reality and I have my own spaceship, this is what I'll have in my hyperdisk drive.

Carbon Based Lifeforms - Central Plains
Carbon Based Lifeforms - Epicentre (First Movement)
Carbon Based Lifeforms - MOS 6581
Carbon Based Lifeforms - Or Plan B
Carbon Based Lifeforms - Refraction 1.33
Carbon Based Lifeforms - Station Blue

Most of their tracks are very mellow and ambient, so steer clear if you're suicidal and your mood is easily effected by music. Despite the fact that 99% of their music is synthetic, when I listen to their above tracks, as well as others, I feel an overwhelming need for nature. I try to hike at least 2-3 days a week, and on those days that I can't make it to the forest, and when Atmosphere Lite just isn't doing it, this is what I crank up.

Carl Orff - O Fortuna

There's just something inspirational about a bunch of people chanting in tune at the top of their lungs. If ever I was to dual to the death, as I imagine in my mind 73 times a day, this would be the song I did it to. There can be no greater glory, than to cut open your opponents throat at the climax of this song.

Cradle Of Filth - Downfall

Not even the Rocky theme makes me want to get up and take on the world like this song. Sadly, the fun ends and the torture begins at 0:53 when the singer comes in and starts screaming, thus ruining the entire song. If you've ever wanted to experience divine inspiration and then have it taken away in under a minute, this is the track for you.

Cusco - Oracle Of Delphi
Cusco - Eros And Psyche
Cusco - The Nine Muses

These guys make me want to go backpacking in South America, Africa, or maybe even Australia and New Zealand. With a few simplistic, yet beautiful sounds and chants, they're able to take all of my cares away. As a matter of fact, I listened them for about 2 hours last night before I broke out of my trance and realized that I had better get back to my homework.

Deep Forest - Sweet Lullaby

This song brings tears to my eyes almost every time that I hear it. I'm no pansy, but I am in touch with my feminine side, and I'm man enough to admit it! This song takes me to a place where computers and technology don't exist. A place where people grow their own food and build their own houses. In other words, a place that many of you would rather die than have to ever live in, but I'm just wired like that.

Diane Arkenstone - World Of Light
Diane Arkenstone - Through The Veil

There's something erotic about her music, but in a gettin' it on under a waterfall kind of way. With Diane on the keyboard and mic, even the worst of premature ejaculators can romance his young lover all night long. Give it a shot...you won't be disappointed.

Diary Of Dreams - Babylon

There's just something about this song that makes me want to sacrifice my neighbors to Shaitan. There's just something romatically vampiresque about two scary men singing the same words at the same time, to a beat that is more depressing that holocaust videos.

Enigma - Return To Innocence
Enigma - Sadness

When I listen to Enigma, I'm immediately taken with the urge to take off my clothes, and return to the innocence of nature, where I'd live in a cave, and grow my own food. And I would too, if I didn't start my new job tomorrow.

Enya (*)

Her music is evidence that life is worth living. No one who ever heard Enya could kill themselves. No matter how bad things get in your life, Enya has the power to pull you off of your *** and set you back on the right path. If you don't listen to her music at least once a day, you're destined to spend the rest of your life in misery, and you may even rot in hell for eternity.

Juno Reactor - Feel The Universe
Juno Reactor - Conga Fury
Juno Reactor - God Is God
Juno Reactor - Kaguya Hime
Juno Reactor - Conquistador II
Juno Reactor - Zwara
Juno Reactor - Navras
Juno Reactor - Pistolero
Juno Reactor - Masters Of The Universe
Juno Reactor - High Energy Protons

The music that Ben Watkins graces us with is evidence that there is a god. Don't believe me? Listen to the first half of God Is God. If you aren't convinced after that, you're already dead.

Bah...I don't have time for this crap. I may post more later. Feel free to ignore this post. These forums simply function as my journal of personal thoughts.
