Is there a way to make my winamp playlist shuffle more randomly? It seems to pick the same songs OVER AND OVER, which include ACDC, Angra, and Eric Clapton. Sure, I like all these artists but this is all I hear for some reason. It picks these 3 bands like, 4 out of 5 times.

Is it organised like this?

Artist 1 - song 1
Artist 1 - song 2
Artist 1 - song 3
Artist 1 - song 4
Artist 2 - song 1
Artist 2 - song 2
Artist 2 - song 3
Artist 2 - song 4
Artist 3 - song 1
Artist 3 - song 2
...

Try organazing it like this:

Artist 4 - song 3
Artist 3 - song 1
Artist 5 - song 6
Artist 1 - song 2
...

Winamp Shuffle is worth crap IMO. I had 100 songs on a playlist, and within an hour I heard the same song 5 times!!! (This was about a 4 min song, so that's like 2/3 of the music I heard in an hour was that one song!!)
Think while it's still legal.

Yea, Sajn, thats exactly how it is. I deleted ACDC, Van Halen, and Clapton, so now I've heard Scott Williams - Crystal Tears at least 6 times. I randomized it too, Flexor, but it didn't help.

What versions are you guys using? I'm using one of the latest Winamp 5.x's, it always shuffles the whole list before returning to a song. Are you sure you didn't just download buy too many instances of one song?

Edit: Nevermind. I've been paying closer attention and yes, it's doing that for me too. I remember testing that hypothesis once and seeing that Winamp would ignore files already played...maybe that's changed.

Just randomize your playlist, turn off shuffle, and let it play through the whole list. No repeats, guaranteed.

I think Vinny's idea would work best.

I know Vinnys idea works the best but for you sufulers out there you have to make sure repeat is off because if repeat is on it reapeats every song.
