YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG OMG OMG OMG OMGO MGOMG OMG OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOM OGM GOM GOM GOMG OMG OMG OGM OGM OGMG OMG OMGOMGOMGOMGO OGO MGOMGOMOGMOGM

but they're nosebleed. I want GA groundfloor tickets. I found them on a "broker's" website for $270 each. I had a savings account set aside for U2 tickets and I had put $500 away just for them. So, should I sell my $50 nosebleed tix and buy the groundfloor? I actually probably will just because this is my favorite band ever.

270$?

Some people just have too much money.

Holy cow... that's a lot of friggin' money. I would just keep the nosebleeds and more importantly, save $220.
2005-03-14, 11:58 PM #6
personally i wouldn't even pay local band prices to see U2... but just go with what you want... and a suggestion for anyone going to a concert

If U2 is your favorite band, I say go all out.

I don't think i'd ever pay more than about £40 to see a single band. I might pay more for a festival though.

I could not agree more. How many times in yours or their lifetime are international bands you love going to visit your city? And when and if they come back are they going to play nothing but potentially crappy songs from their next new album?

Screw the cost! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Their last album sucked... alot.

I sold it at the used Record Store.

If you spend that much money on tickets to a U2 concert, it would be a damn shame. Think about what else you can do with 270 dollars.

Wow, U2 is old and sucks.

They have ONE good song, where Bono is like apologizing to his wife and there are elephants and it's in a car or something. What's it called anyways?

While I personally don't like U2 myself, I respect your opinion. And I think the above posters should recognize that as well.

But if it's your favorite band, go for it. For a single concert I personally wouldn't pay more than $50, a festival I could understand around what you're paying for for U2 though. I had to go through hours of introspect to fork down up to $300 for Phish, and that was a 3 day thing. This is for a few hours at most :P.

Ok, new plan....

U2 just announced they were going to do a 2nd date in Atlanta and tickets go on sale this Saturday. So.... I think I'm just going to buy the floor tickets then because the original price on those is $51.50. (the $270 price was on a scalper website because the tickets for the 1st date were sold out.

This way I can go both nights, one night in the nosebleed and one night on the floor. How ****ing awesome would that be?!

but more to the point, will bono wear different glasses each night?

i doubt i'd be too fussed, U2 wouldn't really get the adrenalin flowing for me if i saw em live, bit dull, although some of their old stuff is great, Vertigo makes me wanna eat chainsaws.
2005-03-16, 11:27 AM #22
U2 = over-rated (by extremes)
Who made you God to say "I'll take your life from you"?
2005-03-16, 12:03 PM #23
I like how people say U2's old stuff is so much better then the new stuff. Apart from Vertigo, all the other songs on Atomic Bomb sounds just like their old stuff.
Think while it's still legal.

That and I really doubt you wouldnt get adrenalined by a U2 show. Have you ever seen one of their concert DVDs? EVERYONE IN THE ENTIRE ****ING PLACE IS GOING CRAZY. Even if the band didnt do it for you at all, you'd be swept up by the crowd's euphoria.

And yes, their latest album sounds like their October album, toss in a couple modern flourishes here and there. People that say Old U2 was good but new isnt obviously dont listen to U2 enough.

yeah thats because i dont really think i could stomach a whole U2 album, i get kinda tired with the songs i like about halfway through.

except that angel in harlem tune, i like that one.

Knowing celebrities, he probably throws them in the trash every night and gets a new free pair the next day.

blasphame.

The sound isn't the same because they don't have the dire pain that they had when they were young.

I've said it before, and I'll say it now..

U2 needs to go back to Ireland and stand in the way of some painful rubber bullets while wearing rag-tag clothing and not flying around in their personal jets... That would possibly make them open their eyes to how hypocritical they are now (people are starving and you american pigs are just wallowing in your own money... WHO OWNS THE FREAKING JET!? ME OR YOU BONO?), and perhaps make some good music again.

But then again, they don't exactly live a minimalist life style.

Actually, knowing Bono he probably has a contract with some African sunglass company where his eyewear business alone provides half the national GDP.

I personally would not want to come within 50 feet of Bono, or else I would probably kill him.

U2 is good though. I agree with Avenger. If this is gonna be once in alifetime opportunity, or you really like them, get close. But not to close, or your ears shall hurt

It's not the subject of the poll.

If I were the Pope, you'd be karate kicked right about now.

Sorry if I came off a little harsh, I just hate it when people post their semi-off-topic 2 cents when everyone else at least addressed the nature of the thread instead of just being like "I dont like U2... you should die.... vomit vomit crap crap." Just like that.

I never tried to insult anyone. There was a poll...
I could have said "where's the option for U2 sucks butthole" if I wanted to, but I don't think that. I just don't like U2 personally. BUT I'm not here to insult your personal taste in music, either. Anyone who knows me even just a little would know that musical-bigotry is one of my pet-peaves.

I believe my post was as far from "I dont like U2... you should die.... vomit vomit crap crap." as it could have been without stating my opinion. This is a forum .
