Life of an instrument is good so far. The only thing I noticed right off is presets. That's the #1 thing that hurts home-brewed electronic music...instrument and sample presets. Your average listener might not notice, but anyone even decently familiar with the genre or production will notice it and automatically get that "oh this sounds familiar
" bias.
Also, it's not technically atmospheric DnB.
The first buildup is meh, but didn't really get my heart pumping as it was your same loop only without the drums in the background. It's a pretty repetitive song even for a dance-floor tune. Your drums sound soft, try boosting the kick at about 60-120hz and the high end of the snare (~11khz on the sample you're using I think.)
It's catchy, but gets old real quick. Work on variation on everything
I really dug the style on Pure Jazz. I expected it to swing more but the whole groove-ambient thing is awesome. Work on flushing out this idea more cuz you've got something great in the works.
