I need the most utterly depressing songs about a girl that you can find... just a list would be great. I'll only be streaming them through Napster... but I'm in need of some differing (depressing) emotions to get me through a song I'm writing... and nothing is working... so Massassi Vibes... GO!

The end of The Cure - Just Like Heaven is pretty depressing..

Might also try The Cure - Letter to Elise or The Cure - Trust

Trust being exceptionally depressing.

The Cure - Disintegration is also pretty intense love song breakup thingy.

Try watching country music television if you have it. If he's not singing about his truck, chances are, it's a depressing song about a girl.
The music industry is a cruel and shallow money trench where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

Can't be bother to think of more right now, but that's what initially came to mind.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Lassev: I guess there was something captivating in savagery, because I liked it.

Moby - The Sky Is Broken
Box Car Racer - There Is
Hole - Doll Parts
Rammstein - Amour
Anything by Loreena McKennitt, Dead Can Dance, etc.
Any emo song by blink 182.

My Bloody Valentine Loveless (I love this band and album)

Basically, I would recommend some kind of ambient mood music, rather than some emo-type music, because it will really put you in a mood and you can write your own stuff instead of what the lyrics of some dude will, etc.

For more ambient, try hiding in the rhubarb. Some stuff I threw together with my friend.

I think emo is a completely ridiculous genre, because any music that's worth anything is emotional. When I hear the word "emo" I think Dashboard Confessional and Get Up Kids, and other similar bands. I LOVE emotional music, but not really emo, if there is such a thing.

Anyway, here's a list of some great emotionally-draining, sad, songs:

The Burning Paris - Building My Own Coffin (saddest song ever, look for this one!)
On Fire - Please Remember
The Appleseed Cast - Fight Song
The Appleseed Cast - Innocent Vigilant Ordinary
The Appleseed Cast - Steps and Numbers
This Beautiful Mess - Sola Gratia
The Ghost - We Shall Persist
Channing Cope - Blackbody Curves
Logh - Yellow Lights Mean Slow Down, Not Speed Up
Logh - Ghosts

Some songs that are somewhat depressing but do kick ***:

Nightwish - Higher Than Hope
Nightwish - Dead Boy's Poem
After Forever - Eccentric
Dream Evil - Losing You
The Cure - Home
The Sisters Of Mercy - Nine While Nine
Stone Sour - Bother
Demonhunter - My Heartstrings Come Undone
Type O Negative - Love You To Death
Opeth - To Rid The Disease
Blackmore's Night - Wish You Were Here
Leave's Eyes - Lovelorn

They're mostly combinations of metal with melancholic sounds - no crappy Evanescenceish nu-metal though. :p
