Vinny - Who Knows v3 (3:54, 5.37MB)

Old versions:
Vinny - Who Knows (1:41, 2.32MB)
Vinny - Who Knows v2 (2:30, 3.43MB)

This is my latest peice of crap, and you'll notice its extensive use of midi guitars. These are simply place holders until I can record it myself. You may also notice the nasty crackly pops that plague this song. Since Fruityloops can't export MIDI tracks as WAV/MP3, I've had to have it play back the track, record it in another program, and then bring it back into Fruity. This would normally be great, except, as I've posted before, whenever I record anything (whether from an external source or simply from what's already playing on the computer) I get annoying popping noises. So does anybody know of a (free) program that will convert MIDI->WAV? And better yet, can anybody tell me a way to fix my recording problem?

I like it, it's got real style to it, and ... I like it. *listens again and again* :)

Nice job
Sneaky sneaks. I'm actually a werewolf. Woof.

I expanded it, changed some drums, and added "vocals."

Midi to wav is kind of tricky. There's one method where a program contains a sample for every conceivable patch available on your midi card. It then goes through your midi and sequences it's samples into a wav, resulting in a wav of your midi. This sucks because the samples usually suck, there's a literal ****-ton of them, and it's not very efficient.

The other way is to get a program like fruityloops or any other professional sequencing program that lets you assign an instrument/patch/wav to your midi data. This is the easiest way, leaving you total control over your song. BUT if you're going this route, why bother with midi-patches in the first place? It's much easier to write a song without having to go back and assign noise to each midi channel.

That will rock as soon as the annoying midi is gone. :p
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Lassev: I guess there was something captivating in savagery, because I liked it.

I can't find (and am too lazy) to find any decent instruments that work well, and honestly, I like the MIDI sounds. It won't matter once I ever get it recorded though.

I've uploaded the 'final' version. I was really suprised that I did this whole thing in just one day. I'm proud of myself.

I watched you change into me
You stole my heart and everything
You wore my words so you could see
You've shut the door, and took the key

The best way would be to import the MIDI into Fruity and then use the Fruity Soundfont plug to create audio tracks. Here's a good place to start looking at Soundfonts.

you could always use foobar2000 (you'll have to download a midi input plugin) and it's diskwriter feature
