If you have the version I have, 4.01 or something, you'll notice a nice little sampler called "Soundfont".

I never paid much attention to this, since it only has one sound font, "strings".

But, online I go, and download more.
And My life is complete.
I have violins, celloes, pianos, guitars.... AMAZING!!!!

Yeah, your clip is really great. I want those SF's too, for my retake of the S&M Nothing Else Matters.

Soundfonts kick *** if you have good ones. I sent some swing music to Thrawn<numbers> that used 5 different SF's for the brass instruments and he was all "omg me want teh samples!"

Ditto, but I don't have any real instruments other than my guitars. :(

I can play just about every instrument in a standard fanfare (I taught for 2 years), but I don't own any of them anymore. :(

I know of the site, but there's a lot on there. How's about we make a list of the soundfonts which we personally recommend?

I'm particularly looking for some suitable for rhythm and lead guitar.

This is a fantastic clean soundfont. It's an Epiphone archtop guitar through a Fender twin amp sim. Samples for EVERY fret. Very nice.

I've never looked for distorted guitar soundfonts though, sorry. I just usually record myself playing. :p Although they would be handy to have.

Every fret except 22,23 and 24 :p

Thing is I want to make backing tracks for practicing lead, so a decent rhythm guitar is pretty important.

Yeah fruityloops is 'kay, i used to make all kinds of music out of it till....can't believe i'm gonna spoil how i make my music...but the program is sooooo easy all you do is paste loops that you can make yourself or use premade ones, u'll even notice alot of sounds that famous artists use, well enough chatter here's the link.

umm, EJay isn't making your own music, sorry. More like copy and pasting a bunch of prefabs other people made.

Rappers can get away with it. But if you claim to "make" your own music, you should get a production program like fruityloops, cubase, reason, etc. In any case, you won't find a single producer that will respect you for using EJay. People who don't know about it might still like it though.
