I also like that song.

It's definately catchy, but it gets a bit repetative.

It's not my style of music, but I have to admit this song is catchy. But I got rapidly fed up of it...

Definitely. When it comes on the radio, I'm all "yay!" but then I'm happy when it's finished.

That whole album is fun.

So is Modest Mouse's album... you could mix the two and probably not be able to tell the difference.

PS, Modest Mouse suck live. Avoid their show at all costs.

I really like the song, and the album.
Rob, what Modest Mouse album are you talking about? Good News For People Who Love Bad News doesn't sound much like Franz Ferdinand.

Whichever was their last one.

They're about the same thing with different vocals, seriously.

They both have the indie rock sound, but both of those bands aren't indepedent anymore... what would you call it?

Franz Ferdinand is 'rock music that chicks can dance to'. From the bands own mouth :)

Really, cause they're coming here next month. Tickets are $25 and I was kinda iffy about paying that anyway...

They just sound horrible.

They're GREAT studion musicians... but sucky live musicians.

No, people in the know have known about them for 2 years. However, many radio stations just put them in rotation within the past 6 mo.

Go see the Killers. That's a band of the same sort that can really rock out live.

Franz Ferdinand were good live too. Not an overly long show when you've only got 1 album to work from, but they really got the crowd going.

They are rather good live.

Another good band with a similar kinda style at times - Snow Patrol.

I think you mean The Killers. To me, the Killers and Franz Ferdinand sound nearly identical on some songs.

Modest Mouse...nowhere near.

But yeah, the entire album's good, including 40 and Ar...starts with an Ar, can't remember the rest of it.

Someone who's been to good shows. ;)

Modest Mouse just don't stack up live, at all.

They aren't a good live band, thats no big deal. And it doesn't reflect on their ability as musicians either, their sound just isn't a live sound.

Apples to oranges my friend, you shouldn't take things so personal OVER THE INTERNET.

I dunno, I've had muscians, in professional, signed, bands agree with me totally.

Don't go name dropping (or even "association" dropping because I'd be willing to bet that I have you beat if you really wanna get into something that irrelevent to the topic) and expect it to make your opinion more valid. My point is that music is purely relative, and there's no way to truly "rate" a bands performance, style, talent, or anything else. The fact that you are trying to defend your point really hurts your credibility in this matter.

The many Modest Mouse bootlegs on my computer disagree with Rob. Also, they were pretty awesome on Austin City Limits a couple of months ago. But to each his own. ;)

It's the internet, does credibility really matter?

Man thats lame.

And really, it's not like it isn't that hard to get a "clean slate."
