That's great! Greenday's a great band. Although I didn't like the fact that the Boulevard of Broken Dreams/Holiday videos were nearly the same.

I agree. I was rather surprised at the quality of American Idiot as a whole. Twas a good album.

My impression I get about this is that they have worked to progress in their type of music, and I appreciate this. However, overall, it doesn't particularly appeal to me. It is a bit catchy-like, but that passes. It seemed to me a little empty (particularly in the emotion conveying/honesty department). That isn't to say it is unemotional or dishonest. I am sure what they are singing about is something they feel strongly, or just a ways, about. Nevertheless, the way it is constructed seems to, rather than focusing on the ideas and emotions themselves, instead to focus more on organizing it into coherent, marketable music. I would have prefered honest noise.

I prefer the second 9+ minute song on the album to the first. And yeah, it's a surprisingly good album.

Greenday isn't the same... American Idiot is a horrible album in my opinion.

I said a lot of **** about American Idiot in a thread before on the basis of the singles... I [obtained] the album to give it a listen, and I have to say i fundamentally feel the same way about it as I did before. I find it terribly uninteresting.

Then again, I just find California punk to be uninteresting, unless its hardcore.. but I especially hate the more pop-oriented stuff.

10 points to the first misinformed person who points out how "politically charged" the album is.

One of the best cd's I have ever bought. I WANT a Jesus of Suburbia video.
